6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWow, where to start? I will start off by saying that the teachers are amazing considering what they have to deal with, these teachers work hard and put in long hours past the final bell. The biggest problem comes from administration, like a previous poster said "Terrible school starting with thePrincipal!!" Now this school has the potential to be awesome but the principal: *Has no backbone to work with the older kids *Allows discipline problems and certain students to run the school *Leaves the teacher powerless *Belittles teachers on morning announcements telling students to remind teachers to do their jobs, things that they are doing to begin with. This causes lack of respect for teachers and the students now feel like they can get the teacher in trouble or fired *Morning announcements may be fine for the lower levels, but someone needs to mention that this is not Mikey's Club House or Nick Jr. The older kids are not amused and have lost what little respect they had left for administration. *Students know they can get away with their ill behavior because other students come back from the office announcing how fun it is to go see the principal/iss(held in office with secretary).Parent Review10y ago - Victoria West High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe staff are good but the students are really awful, I can't go anywhere without someone trying to bully me because of the way I dress, and in class I can hear people making racist jokes and being horrible to each other and the teachers either ignore it or acknowledge it but don't do anything about it, in my first period class there's this entire table of kids that just target me the entire period and despite the fact the teacher knows about how they act towards basically everyone in the class she doesn't do anything about it, and the amount of things I hear come out of kid's mouths makes me feel so unsafe to the point I have to beg my mother to not take me to school because of how horrible the kids are.Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 2012 E Mesquite Ln.

"Roaving packs of dogs in the trailer park, I have no desire at all to be outside in my neighborhood... Contrary to the way the app refers to Victoria as a neighborhood, it's not... 60,000 plus people live here, and some parts are nice, just not Shady Oaks trailer park."

"My neighborhood is PERFECT! In my opinion I live in the BEST location in Victoria. I love my neighbors, I live in rock skipping distance to the mall, Walmart, target, Ethel lee Tracy park, Cinemark, etc. yet we don’t feel that we’re in the middle of all the rustle and bustle of traffic. We’re still tucked away. No crime I’m ever aware of and it’s always quiet and peaceful at night. Even being so close to everything."
