8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to Rockwall from CA last year by this time. My elder son started going to 9th Grade after joining here. So far, we are happy with the school and the staff. Management is so nice and they are always helpful to resolve all kinds of study related issues. I am happy with the security inside the premises and we used to get all school updates in email or phone calls. I would recommend this school always.Parent Review1y ago - Herman E Utley Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has some truly wonderful teachers who go above and beyond and then like all schools they have some ok ones. I don't like that they let the teachers dress like slobs (fortunately only a couple do though). I have been very disappointed with the English department in Rockwall schools in general. My child gets straight A's in "advanced" classes but his writing is atrocious, as demonstrated on his last STAAR test. I wish the kids had lockers and their own textbooks because the online books don't always work and the teachers use more random worksheets than any school I've ever experienced. Communication from the school is the biggest reason I say the school is just average. If you sign up for 6 different sites and with every teacher you might get the majority of the info but the emailed "updates" they send are more about what's going on with the PTA. The great things though are the majority of the teachers are very hard working, caring and dedicated. The kids seem to be very happy with the school too, and that's what matters most!Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 102 N Tyler St.

"Rockwall is a great place to live. It is a good sized city, but still has the small town feel without feeling too big. Great restaurants and stores as well, and the downtown is very charming! "

"Normal. Usually busy on weekends beginning on Friday’s at noon. The interstate that runs through the community is increasingly busier each year. However! TxDoT is adding additional lanes in both directions that should alleviate the congestion."

"Downtown Rockwall is so pretty and provides a community aspect like no other town in the area! Everyone is friendly and is a small town feel while also a beach feel due to the water. It’s the best of both worlds!"

"The town really gets behind everyone - true community. There is a lot of pride in the town and every individual home. Great location close enough yet far enough from the city. A true water and boating town too...beautiful!"

"Awesome community where everyone rallies around each other and celebrates successes. Feel very safe, community events in Downtown or by the water...if you grew up on the east coast or west coast, this will be the only area that feels like home in the DFW area!"

"anything at RGAC pool and golf club is fun and super convenient. They do a good job of mixing up the events offered for kids/families/couples/ladies/men, so you can sort of find your tribe within your neighborhood. Worship at Lake Pointe Church in Sunday’s is a great way to connect with wonderful, loving, genuine, family-friendly people too. "
