7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDecent academics and college readiness programs, but absolutely atrocious community if you aren't a part of the "in crowd". Although it is common for high schoolers to be somewhat catty and vindictive, the school district does nothing to curb this behavior. Those who report bad behavior are treated the same as those who commit the behavior in the first place, and so long as you are a part of the school's sports team, it is guaranteed that there will be little repercussions for your actions. I still get extreme levels of anxiety entering the building despite having graduated a year and a half ago. This campus is not a safe place for practically any minority, and god-forbid you express any inclinations towards depression, anxiety, or academic struggles.Other Review3w ago - Aledo Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average1. I don't live in aledo and they look at me fine. I live 30 minutes away in a small house that's messy and I can't have friends over because of that. My friends don't care if they can't come over(they don't know my house is messy though but they do know I live far away.) and if they could, they sounded eager to come over to my house. 2. It's true most of the population is christian( probably 99%) and I am too. Though I have a friend who is Muslim and she isn't bullied. 3. I have not had experience with the gay and lesbian stuff for I don't recall anyone who is. Though it's against the bible for 99% of the population is christian. Now before you go off thinking I'm defending everyone in aledo, you're wrong. I am defending those who deserve it because there are snobby people in aledo. But you guys are putting all of us under one category.I don't have a problem with the old building personally. I don't see why you should either I mean are you from west lake or something? And you get to retry for a 70 only in middle school. They're trying to smoothly transition to real life. No babying. For the most part, ams is a great school and trading it in for another school would break me.Other Review9y ago - Mcanally Intermediate School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMcAnally is the best school I have ever seen. The administration and teachers obviously love children and come to work everyday motivated to make a difference in the life of a child. They prepare children not only academically, but also socially. They teach leadership, teamwork and responsibility better than anyone. My kids came through there more confident, better able to handle diversity and better able to relate to children and especially adults. I really appreciate their holistic approach. I also like how involved the administration is. Whenever I had a kid have a conflict with a child or teacher, it was obvious the administrators knew my child and treated them fairly. I wish the rest of the district would take note as to what McAnally is doing. The only thing that I have heard about that McAnally could improve upon is their Special Education Programs. I hear these are largely underfunded across the district and not a priority anywhere in Aledo ISD.Parent Review10y ago - Mccall Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Kindergarten teacher my child had didn't seem to want my child since they were a tad difficult, she would write every little thing they did wrong, over exaggerated by saying they threw (blank), but the video only showed them just dropping the item. She neglected my child and left him in the classroom while leaving to take the rest of the class out to another classroom. She didn't check to make sure all were accounted for before leaving to make sure no child was left behind. She only focused what he did "wrong" while locked in her room, but no one, not the principal, not the assistant principal nor the teacher thought they should have done a better job via the teacher side. Her report was only focused on what my child did while inside the locked room (took down teachers post/ decorations/ etc.) and they left out the part of the so called responsible teacher. I had to bring this up to them like this is negligence and could have been dangerous for my child to be left alone in a class or somewhere else- period. FYI: She was not a first year teacher either. The same teacher is seen pulling my child's arm on video, the principal and assistant principal (they didn't even address this BTW), the video was shown to me because he refuse to go to class after being pull out of the line, then we see the teacher yanks his arm to get him to move, and then leave him alone in the hall crying. AGAIN this was only shown to me to view HIS rebellion! My child later tells me that the actual principal hurt his arm, the district police- said its not criminal so no charger will be given. They are not suppose to touch children, one teacher is seen yanking him on video and its not hard to see, that if the teacher did it (the principal didn't see anything wrong with that), chances are the principal does it. I really hope no other child had or will ever have the same experience with them. I hope they learn from this and this never happens again. Advice for any parents who have a wild child (ADHD or anything), record all conversations with all the staff from day one, yes they are nice, but they will lie and say they never told you that. They claim to have the child best interest but if you have any concerns you bring up or point out what they did wrong (hurting arm), they will get defensive and only care to protect the school image in a very friendly matter. My child did like his new teacher, but by that point, we lost all trust with the school.Parent Review6mo ago - Don R Daniel Ninth Grade Campus

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Great Schools review of this school is in my opinion, biased and ill informed. This is a great school with dedicated student's, teachers and staff. I find it disheartening that Great Schools, based on ineffective metrics, rates it at a 6/10 when virtually all ratings organizations rate it as a top school in Texas. When considering the Great Schools review, check the numbers for yourself. Don't blindly believe their assessment.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 14825 Reims Way.

"Increasingly, People come from outlying areas, ( Ft Wth areas) to trick or treat here for Halloween. There had been an increase in minor crimes, for example my new vehicle was broken into and I have had people trying to open my front door late at night. The police have been making more rounds in neighborhoods at night. Too many new people moving here. Lost it’s friendly small town feel. I’m moving"
