6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had 3 children go to this school for 8th and 9th grades. The expectatons for academics and behavior are right on target. The intermediate schools I found to be to elementary for 7th grade. MJHS functions as a team with your childs best educational interest in mind. The standards are high and children have to work hard, learn study skills, and respect for one another. The teachers are strict about learning and expect their students to success. They allow student the opportunity for second chances, but the children and their parent have to take advantage of those opportunities. Parents and other children I hear complainm often are looking for the easy way out and place blame with the teacher, instead of looking at their own child's work ethic, study habits, and behavior. The administration here is so helpful, you just have to reach out to them. MJHS is a wonderfully great school and prepared my children for was what ahead at Maryville High School and beyond. Thank you Mrs. McGinley for your leadership and the high expectations you hold for your teachers, students, and parents. From a very statisfied parent.Parent Review8y ago - Sam Houston Elementary School

"It’s a nice safe and pretty neighborhood! Lots of people go for walks on the side walk and I enjoy this area. "

"I’ve lived here a decade. No one talks to anyone. Frankly the traffic is too intense on Peterson to allow for neighborhood events. "
- Trulia User

"There are no planned community events in this neighborhood, nor have there been in 10 years. It is too dangerous to walk on the side of the road. "

"It’s a neighborhood in transition. In years past we would have never considered living here, but now we were able to settle in as a young newlywed couple very comfortably. Our neighbors are some of the kindest people who have looked out for us time and again, and it’s a very diverse community racially, age-wise, and politically. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 10 years, and the neighbors are not friendly. it is a safe neighborhood, no one comes out of their homes for ambulance or firetrucks. it's safe to walk or jog, the cars do speed even with the road bumps and the speed limit 20mph. School bus picks up kids for elementary, middle and high school. Heritage Middle and High School District."
