4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved here with my child in all advance classes and he was unable to get into those same level of classes here due to “student capacity” being max out for existing students. My student had to enroll in classes he already had taken as an advanced student last year or the year before. Multiple attempts with staff and principal to fix placement failed. This school lacks in educational standards, acknowledgment to properly handle ongoing behavioral issue such as bullying within the school, academic extra curricular clubs, and poor unprofessional leadership in general. It’s very disappointing because we had heard great things about this school before moving here. Personally, I also found my husband was acknowledged and responded much better than I was with the same questions as a female. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 2 children have both attended CES since K4 with no issues. We have always been strong supporters & volunteers. That has since ended with the hiring of the new Principal, Mrs. Pryzbyla, we have seen a downward, negative shift in the school environment to the point we & a few other families have removed our children from the school. Mrs. Pryzbyla does NOT care to get to know the children or the parents, & when parents bring concerns to her multiple times (by appt) she does NOTHING to address them. We asked to have our son switched to another classroom & was told she REFUSED to switch ANY student NO MATTER WHAT the situation was. We also went to the KCSC Office looking for help & spoke with Mr. Hopkins who tried to resolve the problem but for a PRINCIPAL to tell a DISTRICT DIRECTOR she won't do something- should be classified as insubordination. But it was never even blinked at. I am writing this because I want other parents to know how we were treated. How CES & KCSD did nothing to help. Change needs to happen at that school & it needs to start with hiring a new Principal.Parent Review5y ago

"Halloween is amazing with tons of kids, friendly neighborhoods, and small town feel. I know my neighbors by their first name and school is better than surrounding areas. Movies are cheap and restaurants are great with home cooked meals or upscale if that’s what you’d re interested in."

"Must be by car. There are no buses, taxis, or Uber’s. Gas is cheap and lots to do right in Camden. To Columbia Sand Hills shopping it is 30 min and 35 min to Shaw AFB"

"I work about an hour away, but it’s all highway and luckily I don’t hit much traffic. Within the neighborhoods and city, traffic typically flows very well. "

"This neighborhood is Kid friendly, pet friendly. We say hello to everyone and enjoy having get togethers in this community. It is small enough that 80% of us are known to each other. Our commitment has a neighborhood Facebook page that keeps us informed of any developments or just to say hello. "There are plenty of parks and all come with “doggie waste” bags! There are sidewalks on most streets and you will see plenty of people out early or later in the evening walking dogs, biking or just walking for exercise. There are leash laws in the City, which is a good thing. Unfortunately, we do not have a designated “Dog Park” to be off leash and play with other pups..."
