5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is going downhill. I have an older child who attended 9 years ago, it was much better then. Many of the students are out of control and disrespectful. I attended the move up ceremony for my son and was greatly disappointed and upset by how many of the students acted at the event. They yelled out, and some cases were screaming when their friends names were called out and mean to those who they did not like. The girl sitting behind me was snorting like a pig when a heavy set girl when up to the stage and other students laughed. Nothing was done. Many of the students were dressed inappropriately especially the girls. They wore really short revealing dresses. I cannot believe their parents let alone the school allowed that to happen. It was a nightmare. The whole middle school event. The principal did not say a word . It is obvious he has no control over the school and many of the students have lots of issues. I now understand why my son never wanted to talk about what happens at the school and why he told me he did not want to attend the ceremony. He was right we should have stayed home. I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO SEND HIM TO PRIVATE SCHOOL.Abington JUnior high was a better school when Dr. PELLEGRINO WAS THERE AND THE TEACHERS AND THE SCHOOL BOARD SUPPORTED TEACHERS AND CARED.Parent Review10mo ago - Willow Hill Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved here from a small school in a different state and chose Willow Hill's zone so our son would stay in the same type of atmosphere, since he's a bit shy and finds it difficult to open up to new kids. He has blossomed at Willow Hill and has all but forgotten his old school. He knows every teacher's name and feels like the principal is someone he can approach with any concern he has. The school is very welcoming to students and families, from the principal to the administration to the teachers. Everyone is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about Willow Hill and the atmosphere they foster for their students. Our other son is at a larger elementary school in the district for a special program and, while I like his school and the events a larger budget allows, I don't feel like he gets the same family-like feeling that Willow Hill has, which also has its clear benefits.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1943 Preston Ave.

"Grew up in the area, when there still was a Willow Grove Park, not functional, but before the mall. It has slowly been developed, and now on the verge of over developed. But there are still plenty of nice, green neighborhoods surrounding everything."
