3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile there are a few good, dedicated teachers at this school, there are too many teachers that are not. The science and math programs are particularly weak, and graduating students that are college-bound are not being adequately prepared. While many courses are offered, few are quality.Parent Review6y ago - Chillicothe Primary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageChillicothe Middle School has made improvements in all areas. They are no longer in the beautiful but crumbling Smith building. The facilities are clean, bright, and spacious. The teachers are dedicated to each student. The new administration is supportive and strong leaders. The excellent rating that I give them goes with the excellent rating from the state. In addition, CMS is one of just a few "Leader in Me" middle schools in the country.Teacher Review11y ago - Chillicothe Intermediate School

"Not a place I would raise my kids. Not great schools. The good school is my 2 prisons. There’s a plant that makes the place smell like rotten cabbage couple days a week. Run down parts. "

"I don’t think there’s anything special here. There’s a very small “nice area”. There’s a mill that makes the whole town smell like rotten cabbage most days of the week. It’s an eye sore. "
- Lindsey H. .

"It’s a small town and even smaller “nice” part of town. The main strip of road that has all the shops and stores you’d want is always congested since everything is so close together. Not somewhere I want my kids to grow up in. "

"beautiful park with lake, dog park, hiking trails. Farmers market year round, excellent fishing and within 25 miles of large lakes. "

"I live in Chillicothe and work less than a mile away and commute is easier and convenient, but the sidewalks are awful and all need redone, it’s not exactly handicapped accessible and the handicapped can’t even use the sidewalk because it’s so torn up. It’s scary and the only part that feels safe is directly next to the mead because of the 24/7 patrol and the lights."

"I own a dog and I have the ability to let my dog run free and/or also walk trails and hills as I see fit. I can take them to most outdoor events held here and almost all the parks around here are pet friendly"

"They have the feast of the flowering moon, the Halloween festival, and the Drug Free Clubs of America have a rally down Paint Street by the courthouse, our neighborhood is very involved, but it doesn’t always feel safe. I love Chillicothe, I was born and raised here."

"We love our neighbors and we have the comforts of a close nit neighborhood, yet a feel of country, and yet only 5 min. to Bridge St. shopping and restaurants. Living right off of 35 makes it so convenient for us to hop on the highway and be an hour to a hour and a half from 3 major Ohio cities! "
