While there are a few good, dedicated teachers at this school, there are too many teachers that are not. The science and math programs are particularly weak, and graduating students that are college-bound are not being adequately prepared. While many courses are offered, few are quality.

Employed in the district from 2006-2012, I feel qualified to address some of the concerns that previous posts discussed. Yes, it's true that there were times that there were too many student altercations, a few (very few) unproductive staff members, and there may have been some issues with discipline. However, much has changed since many of these concerns were voiced. The school system now has stronger leadership, and has changed for the better. The number of disciplinary actions dropped so drastically that the principal Mr. Fisher, discussed in a previous thread, was asked to present his methods for ODE. The level of accountability has been raised for staff and students alike. Teachers not performing well have been remediated, and have improved, or were dismissed from their position. There are good things happening in CCSD. Visit the school, drive around the community, and learn what it means to be a Cavalier!

Chillicothe High School has had a tremendous influence on my life and made me the person that I am today. The faculty/staff provided exceptional instruction and guidance throughout my four years there. The build great relationship's with the students and really showed interest in our futures. The Principal (Jeff Fisher) is also a huge part of my success in my life after high school. Not only did I have him as a teacher but I also go to experience his early years as principal. There is not one individual out there that cares more about the students and their success during and after high school. There's not one thing he wouldn't do to help a student. I can honestly say that the opportunities that I had at CHS molded me into a person well capable of going out into the world.

This is a school that cares for its students. I have seen teachers and administrators purchase clothing, food, and pay school fees for students in need. I have witnessed staff members give of their time to tutor students after school, cheer them on at extra-curricular events, and provide support in difficult times. This is a great school and no test scores or reviews will ever do it justice. Do yourself, and your children a favor and visit this school for yourself, you will be glad you did.

I could not say this is the best school in US. but it is the best school in Ross county. We have a lot of AP courses, students activity club, board casting program, and this is the only one school district offering Chinese class. We have a lot of good teachers and students here, the only thing I think school need improve is teaching students more academic /school culture and follow the school rule.
