4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two kids at Boulevard now and so far we've had a fantastic experience. Kind teachers and staff, a very engaged principal, and an incredible amount of diversity and respect for different cultures and family types. Class sizes are small (ours have 16 kids to 1 teacher and 1 helper).Parent Review1y ago - Shaker Heights Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am currently a 7th grader at this school so please take me seriously but never send your child here! first, the principal of this school is never here and half of the students don’t know what she even looks like due to her attendance and she is extremely disrespectful and rude to one of the coaches that works at the school. Secondly, they do not care if your child is failing or needs extra support in their subjects.. recently the school had a board meeting to propose the idea of cutting all support classes just so they can have “more time in math class” which won’t benefit anything if they are just cramming on more work to students who still need support, thankfully the idea was voted against and is now not going to happen but the whole situation just shows you that they don’t care and just want more students. Thirdly, IT IS NOT SAFE HERE!! Everywhere you walk inside of the school there is tape holding broken windows together.. and also there are rats and bed bugs here too which is very un sanitary and just borderline disgusting, but then there are students who threaten to bring weapons to the school to intentionally cause harm.. with everything happening in the world right now this school is not taking enough action. Fourthly, there is so much bullying going on here. On Monday of this week on one of the transportation busses kids were simply just shouting out racial slurs repeatedly and you know what the bus driver did?.. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! Every time there is an issue like this being brought up nothing happens. It’s like the school doesn’t even care about the kids of the future anymore. Please listen to me when I say DO NOT SEND ANY OF YOUR CHILDREN TO SHAKER SCHOOLS!! invest in private schools or even online schools.. these schools will not benefit your children’s intelligence at all, if anything it will damage it.. So much violence happens here it’s scary… remember when I mentioned the broken windows?? They broke because during fights kids were getting smashed through them! The school also has a very small budget so mostly everything in there needs to be updated or trashed. Instead of spending their money on new books and windows and better heating.. they spend it on stupid school dances that will be ruined by fights every time. Now I know I’m only in 7th grade and I might not know much but what I do know is that this school is beyond terrible. Now like I said before…. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO ANY SHAKER HEIGHTS SCHOOLS NO MATTER THE GRADE!!!!Student Review1y ago - Shaker Heights High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school as long as you can avoid it, your kid will probably like it but there’s a low chance of that being. As a freshman the students and staff sometimes make it feel like you can’t do certain things or you don’t fit in seniors will also have a hard time parking unless you come a hour early and who wants to do that. There’s 3 parking lots for staff and the students have to park on the street that is already a bad look on its own. There are so many rules that is just Unnecessary for example, bringing in food from outside I guess it’s due to covid but you telling me I can spread covid from meeting and getting food but not from my job and home anyways there so much more to that I hate about this place I also promise that if there was a survey for recommending this school by the students it would be below average. It’s never the work it’s the staff and the school!Student Review2y ago - Woodbury Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we knew we would make Northeast Ohio our home, we chose to live in Shaker specifically for the schools. We were not disappointed in our choice at the K-4 level and so far not at Woodbury either. Woodbury with 5th and 6th in the same building gives great opportunities (including band and orchestra and after school clubs) to these students that most schools cannot offer. Woodbury provides a nurturing environment for young thinkers to build and develop themselves. Shaker schools generally are diverse with students a wide range of families and Woodbury is no exception. If you value educational opportunities for your children and not just cookie cutter education, you cannot find a better public school environment in Ohio, or perhaps even beyond.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 2911 Ludlow Rd #3.

"I've lived in this neighborhood on and off for over 50 years when it was a Hungarian area. Like most neighborhoods in this city getting to be more vacant lots then houses. All the good stores are gone and been replaced with junky Family and General Dollar stores. What happen to neighborhood pride, Block parties and driveway cook offs? With more affordable single family housing this neighborhood can be revitalized. #neighborhoodpride "

"I don’t see many people walking their dogs in this neighborhood. If they do, they pick up after their dogs. There are not a lot of barking dogs. Restaurants nearby are pet friendly. There is a pet grooming store in the neighborhood as well as a gourmet pet food store. The grooming store has been around for at least 10 years. The pet food store is new."
