Close knit, small town school. The staff works hard to accommodate all types of student needs and to still provide a challenging education. The students are generally all kind toward one another. Coaches care about student athletes and want education to come first. Overall, we had a great experience with MGMS and the staff is some of the best in the district.

I wish I could echo the sentiments of my fellow reviewers here. I have two children at Park Ave Elementary. One of them is having what I would consider an average experience but my younger child is not. My younger child is on the autism spectrum and even though is very high functioning and an honor roll student, he is the target of persistent ridicule from fellow students. We have attempted to deal the situation at several levels, but have been unsuccessful at every attempt. The school claims to have a zero-tolerance bullying policy, but the children responsible are still allowed to attend the school. The school has assured us of their zero tolerance policy, but cautioned us the children are products of their environments which they have no control over. As a result, we are withdrawing our children and moving out of the community. I don't want my child to have endure this "learned" behavior while the officials at the school are unwilling or unable to enforce their zero-tolerance policy.
