4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAt the moment, This school has many flaws. The school has very low morale and unfair standards.. However, the biggest flaw with this school right now is related to Springfield's financial situation. The school has various physical problems with it that span from bad plumbing to filthy environments. In addition, the lunches are low quality and overpriced. Another problem involves Springfield's sports. All the equipment is very outdated and worn, not to mention how much money the school requires you to pay to actually play the sport and buy the equipment. Another problem involving finances has to do with electives. In the near future (May of 2021), Springfield will have one the biggest budget cuts in its history. The cut will make students pay more money to play sports, it will cut the band which in return will lower the schools morale even further, it will cut out all electives and college classes along with firing half the staff in the building, it will increase the price of lunches, it will get rid of bussing services, and lastly it will cause many other negative changes to the school. These are some of the bigger changes, however there are still a few more I need to address. The teachers working in the high-school branch assign way too much work which will cause you to become overwhelmed and will likely have you working all night every day to get it done. They also assign work over any weekends or national holidays, and if you do not complete it by the deadline it will be marked as an F. Anyways, another problem they have is with they're schedule. Springfield has a ridiculous schedule right now that mixes block periods and regular periods together. The grading system is very unfair right now since most people usually just cheat which in return stops anyone from actually trying. Lastly, we have barely any assemblies or group activities anymore, which lowers morale and makes students lose their connection to the school. This is the majority of the issues I could think of, however there are a few positives I can think of. One positive i can think of involves the teachers. Some of the teachers at Springfield are fairly supportive of their students and they care about them more than teachers from other schools. Another positive involves drug problems at Springfield. Springfields drug problems aren't too bad compared to other schools, and security is somewhat heavy. Finally, students at Springfield gain a better education compared to some other schools.Other Review3y ago - Check out schools near 1064 Buena Vista Dr.

"This is a safe place to live, I never feel nervous when my kids want to play outside. I also like to walk the neighborhood and find that neighbors are friendly and say hello. The neighborhood is clean and yards are well kept. Despite bad reputation, both of my kids are APS student and I love all of their teachers. "

"This really isn’t a good neighborhood to live in. It didn’t use to be this bad but the crime is horrible there’s no police presence so the stores and gas stations always get robbed and the city of akron does nothing to help this neighborhood. Summit county the county where the neighborhood is doesn’t do anything to help anyone. There are very little programs yet poverty everywhere. You wanna limit crime ease the poverty and add more police presence. That’s why nice neighborhoods are nice they have police and city investments "

"I lived in this area for three years and really enjoyed it because it was convenient to fire stone stadium, hiking bike, trail, numerous grocery and small stores all the store close by where I did most of my shopping. Convenient to the main post office in downtown Akron. I can bike trail ghost towns in Canal Fulton that up to Cleveland. Goes by Summit lake which is very picturesque. The pictures are outdated. The house is been all redone inside new kitchen new bathroom new paint very convenient to different highway systems not much traffic on the street so you don’t have to worry about your dog or children getting hit by cars. I do miss the neighborhood."

"Porchrockr is amazing. Happens once a year in August. Highland square is a great area but West Akron is broad area and many of these questions do not apply to the whole area. Highland Square USA unique area and the bars have many events. "

"I drive to and from Work . I Lyft for work which is great for anyone without a vehicle. It'd be a plus to have a car in this area but ride shares are a convenient alternative to having a car. Highland Square is just a hop, skip, and a jump away, where there are bars, restaurants, grocery, and shopping. Hardesty park and the local library are in walking distance from me, which are both lovely parks and playgrounds. Sand run parkway is very close, one of the Metro parks. This is a very friendly and fun neighborhood. I love it here 😍 ❤️ Tons of positive energy and great peole."
