5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am new here at this school, and I have been welcomed warmly by all of the teachers. This is an amazing school! All schools should be this way. Kind, opening, supportive.Parent Review1y ago - Hastings High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are two years in and find the math and science weak.m. The district dropped the Geometry, Chemistry and Algebra II regents that other Rivertowns schools offer. Geometry teacher said too many kids failed. counselors that do class scheduling are terrible at it. Requires too much researching to navigate getting our student in classes rather than study halls, and to know what classes to avoid or get a tutor because the teaching is poor Regret moving here - taxes are sky high and we aren’t getting the school experience we expected to go with it.Parent Review6mo ago - Hillside Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's been a pleasure watching our kids and their friends grow up here. The parents are very involved and friendly. You can be as involved as you want to be, or not, but it's a lot of fun, especially the book fairs and the class parties. There are a lot of parents that still opt their children out of the state tests, and that likely skews the results on a site like this, but the kids are bright and engaged. My sons read all the time, love math, play sports and music, are curious, confident, present etc.Parent Review4y ago - Check out schools near 1 David Lane UNIT 1s.

"It’s dangerous, especially for a woman or young girl at night. Used to work at the Walgreens, and shelves were emptied to theft daily. Walk down the wrong neighborhood, you will have to walk fast or be prepared to not get robbed. But close to the train, and getting gentrified with million dollar apartment buildings right next to the homeless shelter is. Lived and worked here all my life. And I travel everywhere else in Yonkers when I’m not working or home."
- Christian070694

"The area isn’t safe to raise children in, or ideal. Most of the buildings to live here have infestation problems, have not been updated, and you will get jumped for walking down the wrong streets. Schools aren’t the best, and the public transportation(although convenient) is the worst with how many people jump on, or hold it up during rush hour. People who live here, don’t want to, they have to."
