6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son enjoys this school, and whenever we come across any conflicts or miscommunication, it is handled immediately. Only downfall we have noticed is with special events that involve a prize to a student, its usually some student that is related to a teacher. Staff is great, from reception, nurse, principal, teachers, cafe employees, and bus drivers. Even students in hallways have been kind when Ive come in to volunteer. Its just a great feeling over hearing students being so encoraging to one another in those halls!Parent Review6y ago - Oswego Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal has proven herself to us to be deceptive and self-serving, a very dangerous combination to have in an already poor performing school district. She is an Oswego native who has never lived or worked outside of Oswego and only knows Oswego, so parents who want their children to succeed and make it out of Oswego should be aware. Most of the teachers are great, and the music teachers are top notch.Parent Review11y ago - Oswego High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOHS employs some really great teachers who truly care about their students. They implement a whole-person approach to addressing problems that the students might be having at school, and have a great team in the counseling office to help students deal with socioemotional as well as academic issues. The curriculum includes a long list of Honors, AP, and dual credit courses, as well as a huge variety of extracurricular activities, and does a thorough job preparing students for continuing education. I am particularly happy that they also offer practical courses in life skills and math for everyday living, and through their partnership with BOCES they offer a great alternative to students who are not college-bound to learn the skills that they need to jump into their adult lives after graduation. My children have had a great experience at this school compared to other school districts that we have lived in.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 271 W 7th St.

"I lived here half my life and besides the college kids causing a ruckus, the city is pretty sweet, if you are an alcoholic.... There is a bar on every corner. Welcome to the black hole of the universe, Oswego, NY. Oh, and beware of Harbor"mess" in July-August. It get's insane."

"I’ve lived in the township of Oswego for over 25 years. Our area has the peaceful beauty of country living, yet less than 5 miles from the college. Although most of the lawns are measured in acres, all the neighbor’s mow their yards on a regular basis. In the rural area, there are no sidewalks, but that does not stop people from walking or biking. Neighbors are friendly and eager to lend a helping hand. Excellent place to raise a family."

"This is a college town. Finding a home is difficult to find if you're looking to settle down here. I wouldn't recommend it. I love the small town feel. I love the old homes but mamy of them are run down and people can't afford to fix them. Well paying jobs are hard to find around here also."

"Its a small town, I will say there are a lot of college students that come here, and can make it a little hectic at times. "

"If you are a college student and do not mind being kept awake all night by neighbors having loud parties and groups of people walking the streets all hours of the night yelling and making loud noises then this area is for you. If not then stay away, most of the houses are multiple units and rent to mainly college students. Not a family friendly area. "
