Description
This property is not currently for sale or for rent on Trulia. The description and property data below may have been provided by a third party, the homeowner or public records.
This stunning 20-foot wide elevator townhouse has just undergone a magnificent and exacting renovation by Pembrooke and Ives. Totally brand new, and featuring the highest quality finishes, this gorgeous home is move in ready.
Originally designed and built by Steven Harris Associates, the house features some of the trademark attributes that characterize his homes: A rear wall of windows, excellent ceiling heights and a thoughtful and flexible floor plan which accommodates myriad family configurations.
Offering approximately 8,575 above grade square feet across 7 stories with a fully finished and full height basement, the property features a planted and gated entry forecourt as well as a beautiful limestone façade with a full width Juliette Balcony on both the second and third floor. With 6 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, 3 half bathrooms, an indoor double-height basketball court, a south-facing garden and rooftop terrace, this home offers the perfect combination of grand scale, soaring ceilings, and streaming light courtesy of the house's unique east and west exposures from full height windows and casement doors.
An impressive entry foyer with elegant curved staircase leads into the home's oversized eat-in kitchen with separate butler's pantry. Designed for the premiere chef, the kitchen is truly a room for gathering. Custom cabinetry, brilliantly crisp marble countertops and backsplash, radiant heat floors, and top-of-the-line appliances by Sub Zero and Wolf are illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows and casement doors that open onto the private rear garden. Equipped with an integrated grill, outdoor entertaining becomes seamless. A powder room as well as two service entrances (one with 'mudroom') complete the Entry Floor.
Upstairs, 11-foot ceilings and 81 foot depth result in a massive entertaining space. A gracious landing leads into the home's formal living room and library, both with wood-burning fireplaces newly clad in Neromarquina marble, floor-to-ceiling windows and casement doors that lead onto Juliette balconies. A powder room and separate wet bar are also located on this floor.
The sumptuous master bedroom, located on the Third Floor, features a wood-burning fireplace, an en-suite five-fixture marble bathroom, as well as 2 walk-in closets plus additional wardrobe storage. A second large bedroom is located on the floor, and includes an en-suite bath and an adjoining sitting room.
The Fourth Floor includes two generously sized bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and plentiful closets, and one with a south-facing terrace and fireplace. A central play area and secondary washer and dryer are also on the floor.
The double-height indoor basketball court on the Fifth Floor is a truly unique feature, with 23-foot ceilings which are entirely sky-lit, allowing natural light to flow within. A secondary bedroom/media room with wet bar and full bathroom complete the floor.
Ascending to the top two floors of the house, one will find a well-proportioned bedroom, media room, and a full bathroom on Six, and a sunroom on Seven that boasts unobstructed southern views of the Midtown skyline from an expansive rooftop terrace.
The fully finished basement features a large recreational area, a powder room, full-size laundry room, as well as plentiful storage.
The house elevator services 7 floors of the house, including the basement, and features six zone central heating and air conditioning, intercom and security system.

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy special needs kid attended PS 6 from kindergarten through fifth grade. His experience was outstanding on the whole. The vast majority of teachers and administrators were dedicated to helping my son thrive. Their solutions to issues were creative and flexible. Parent involvement was high, especially in lower grades. I feel they did an excellent job preparing my son for middle school, which he started this year.Parent Review4mo ago - Jhs 167 Robert F Wagner

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePersonally, I would not recommend this school. As a student I can defidently say that this schools safety is horrible. There's fights everyday inside and outside school. I also almost got into a fight in the middle of the yard and the staff were nowhere to be seen. Another topic I'd like to talk about is the education. Wagner's education is honestly not that good. As a student with an average grade of 90's I can assume how teachers just don't care about their jobs and students education and how little students learn about certain topics.Student Review5mo ago - Eleanor Roosevelt High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been very happy with ElRo. The teachers are so helpful and dedicated. I wish there were more events for students to attend outside of class, but the clubs are great. I wish more parents were involved. I think when the school opened up to the 5 boroughs, there is a little loss of parent involvement.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 60 E 83rd St.
