Read what parents are saying about Eleanor Roosevelt High SchoolWe have been very happy with ElRo. The teachers are so helpful and dedicated. I wish there were more events for students to attend outside of class, but the clubs are great. I wish more parents were involved. I think when the school opened up to the 5 boroughs, there is a little loss of parent involvement.
Posted by a parent on 5/3/2023This school is complete TRASH. DO NOT GO HERE. The students misbehave everyday, the bathrooms are never clean, and the teachers do not help anyone.
Posted by a student on 3/24/2023This is a highly selective school. The students are hardworking and talented. The teaching staff is wonderful. Standards are high and the school is rigorous, but NOT competitive. The students and teachers support each other and collaborate well. I adore this school. My son graduated from ElRo in 2012 and I feel he was so lucky to go there. It's one of the best public high schools in New York City, indeed, one of the best in the nation.
Posted by a parent on 2/2/2018I graduated from this school and it was an amazing experience. Perfect amount of work to get me prepared for College. I attended the University of Michigan and thought that Elro did an excellent job preparing me. Keep it up. DGarson

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family had an absolute horrible experience at this school! From the awful administrators, both principal and vice principal, to the incompetent horrible guidance counselor, to mediocre teachers, this school experience for the last several years continued to disappoint. This school failed my child on many levels including quality of services received, to recommendations of classroom placement, to sharing that my child was very behind in the last year of school before leaving and transitioning to middle school. Would have been nice if that was communicated to us years earlier so we could have gotten the supports needed and set him up for success in middle school. Poor communication with parents and overall, just terrible school. I am beyond thrilled that my child will no longer be a student here. Years ago, this school was considered to be an elite public school that was equivalent to a high-end private school. It completely went downhill, and the leadership is really at the core of it. I have many friends who attend the school that feel the same way I do. Do not send your child to this school! There are so many better options in the neighborhood.Parent Review9mo ago - St. Stephen of Hungary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a safe port in a stormy sea for children in the time of Covid.Their smart Covid mitigation practices kept them in-person all year last year and they’ve retained the practices.Every single member of the staff we’ve interacted with clearly loves what they do and it shows. The academics are exemplary as is the love and care towards the children in their care.Parent Review2y ago - The Town School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent of an upper schooler at Town. We’ve been at Town since kindergarten. Town is such a wonderful school! My child is thriving academically and the mix of challenging work, top-rate faculty, and a warm and friendly community make this one of the best schools in the city!Parent Review10mo ago - The Caedmon School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCaedmon is a place where children can truly flourish. The teachers, staff, and head of school are warm, caring, and professional. The environment is fun and familial. The greater community is wonderful. Our children have all had different, but equally wonderful experiences here. I especially appreciate that the school supports emotional and social development in conjunction with academics: children learn about friendships and empathy and mental health alongside math, reading, and science.Parent Review2y ago - Lycee Francais De New York
