4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my kids attend the school and absolutely love it. There is very strong parent engagement. My kids have made really great friends and they feel like they are a part of a loving, diverse and special community. The teachers work very hard to ensure every child is learning.Parent Review5mo ago - School For International Studies

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an upcoming 8th grader at this school I’d say for as many good teachers, there are twice as many bad teachers, this school prides itself on diversity while only having one Asian teacher in the whole middle school. The new principal and vice principal are constantly making unnecessary changes without feedback from students that make the school feel more like strict private school rather than a fun learning environment. I’ve made so many friends at this school but there have been a lot of bad moments as well. During school shooter lockdowns which happen frequently the school barely communicates with parents and instead of fixing problems that actually matter they decide to implement things like teachers escorting students to lunch and having to “earn” the right to eat lunch outside of the school, to be honest and frank this school would’ve been a great decision a couple years ago but now with the overwhelming amount of rules it isn’t worth it. You light think I’m just a petty student but these things are real issues that are happening right now ESPECIALLY with the mis-communication with parents during school emergencies!!Student Review8mo ago - Brooklyn Frontiers High School

"Good easy convenient options - can get anywhere pretty much quickly. Many trains but super crowded. "

"This is a racially diverse community but very economically exclusive. Wealth is necessary and required to sustain a livelihood, if you’re looking for comfort expect to pay for it. On the other hand, the views are beautiful and the neighborhood is well manicured and quiet for the most part. Most of the commotion comes from visitors, tourists, and acting action. Another frequent sound is that of traffic, depending on your location you might catch an earful. If you’re a foodie then you’re in luck! There is plenty to explore that’s culturally diverse and ranges in price. Great for a date or quick bite. "

"Fort Greene park is amazing. The grass is well maintained, there are two playgrounds, beautiful flowers and tennis courts. Even on weekends it doesn't feel overcrowded. "

"Lots of people out walking dogs at all times. People are generally courteous and give a wide berth, which is nice to see. One downside is that you will be buying your own poop bags. Not many stations with bags, though I think there are some near the waterfront."

"There are a ton of dogs in the area, but no dog park for them to play around. Owners struggle to find space in Cadman Plaza or Fort Greene park, but those areas have to be “off hours” which are inconvenient for folks with office jobs."
