6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is finishing 6th grade. The school is now safe and looks out for bullying. My major concern is over the quality of the education. It seems teachers are more interested (pushed to) getting students to make the average than to really excel, to be all they can be. Foreign language education appears to be very weak. Note: although the students do take the city bus, they do so as a group, so I think it's somewhat safe...at least safer than me taking the NYC subways in the 80's !Parent Review6y ago - Philip J Schuyler Achievement Academy

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been a student at this school for 3 years, We have been trying to get him out of the school for many reasons. First being the other student and the poor parenting households they come from. Second the lack of leadership, this school year there was 3 different principals and no one had a clue what was going on. Third Most of the staff seemed just a ghetto as the parents that bought there children there. This school offers no recreational activities for the students what so ever. I must say there was a few dedicated teachers but the majority seemed not to care because the parents of the students did not care. I feel my child has lost a tremendous amount of precious time in that school, and I hope to gain a better quality education for him at another school.Parent Review11y ago - Check out schools near 6 Kent Street.
