3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a student here and have been at this school for 2 years. I will be going to high school soon. My experience here has not been great. When I first came here in 6th grade everything was chill. teachers were great, the students on the other hand were very disrespectful. Nine times out of ten the students are given Lunch reflection but still keep up the same behavior. I really do like the program here. The Art's program here is great as well as the elective classes. Teachers don't really go above and beyond to fix disruptive or disrespectful students. Staff here also don't really put in the effort to help us learn. Seventh grade is a lot worse and I can't imagine how 8th grade will be. In my Seventh grade experience, I always see students fighting or bullying as well as trying to make you feel like you are a nobody. When fights happen teachers do not put in the effort to try to stop them. Many eighth-graders vape in the bathroom as well as damage school property. Admin here is not too great. Admin don't put in the effort to punish kids who have behavior issues. For example this student threw a foot ball at many other students intentnianly to try to harm them. I report that situation to staff, and admin was contacted. When admin took a look at CCTV all they had to say was, "They were just playing football" The fact that bothered me the most is that they didn't even try to talk to kids whole saw the whole situation to try to resolve this issue. Right now I'm dealing with a student being very disrespectful twards me and calling me rude slurs. I'm contacting Head Admin to try to reslve this beacuse clearly an In-School-Suspension was not enough. If staff does not try to resolve this I will have to talk to the School Board and most likly wont end well for the student and staff member. Overall I really would advise you to stay away from this school and to choose any other school in the area!Student Review2y ago - Millbrook Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOutside of the IB programme, the classes are subpar at best. Students spend the majority of time sitting around on their phones or napping and not doing any work. Admin appears to support teachers but when it comes down to it, nothing changes. Students that need special services are often overlooked with so many coming from MS with IEPS but not having the same accommodations made here, or they are not being re-evaluated. Often, when asking about a student's needs being met and the possibility of them getting tested we are told that they are not attending consistently so it's pointless. There are WAY too many ways for people to go in and out of the buildings, and during class changes there are no adults monitoring doors. The school does not appear to value the teachers, or subs. Subs are routinely pulled from their assigned duty to take on a different class, which results in the school struggling to get subs at all. Overall, I would not recommend working here OR sending your child here.Other Review1y ago - Wake Early Coll Heal

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a terrible choice for parents and students looking for a supportive teachers. Teachers will rarely listen to or try to understand a student's point of view. The administration will ignore many student concerns without any investigation unless parents interfere. Many of the work handed is just busy work and rarely has an impact on student learning. There are some helpful teachers but there are even more cruel teachers. It's incredibly hard to fix grades that a student didn't deserve without parental interference. The courses offered are very restrictive as well.Student Review8y ago - Wake Nc State Univ Stem Early College High School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had an amazing experience as a student at this school. This has made me not only ready for college but also the professional world. Throughout my four years here I was able to grow and learn through the help of the incredible students and staff. I can't wait to see what Wake STEM becomes.Student Review4y ago - Wake Young Men's Leadership Academy

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhile we have had a few bumps getting our boy engaged, the leadership have been great partners with looking at options. This school is a college prep school so there is not an emphasis in the Arts, but more a focus on core curriculum. We love that there are male teachers teaching our boy as they provide examples of strong role models. We love the uniforms!Parent Review2mo ago - Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy

"I don’t have much of an opinion on what I think is important for parents to know as I don’t have any children of my own. I think this area appears to be safe and pleasant for children as far as I have observed. Kids play outside with and without parent supervision and it seems everyone feels very safe and protected and neighbors seem to keep vigil about the surroundings in general. "
