7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe kids at this school are quite racist and homophobic, however, that is changing. As for daily life, bullying is normal and homework is abundant. Most children (including me) here don't want to learn. Some teachers try to make learning engaging, but most just try to shove knowledge into our brains. This schools says it is in support of mental health, and it does sometimes do a good job, but the amount of homework it gives says otherwise.Parent Review11mo ago - Potomac Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m surprised to see some of the reviews here. We have had two kids at PES and love everything about the school and the community. The principal has shown herself to be very capable, accessible and innovative. And the staff have all been extremely student-focused. They are creative, caring and competent. Our kids have thrived at PES, enjoying everything from the new building to Chinese immersion to orchestra to the book fair and more. The focus also on mindfulness and kindness has been fantastic!Other Review2y ago - Winston Churchill High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageChurchill high school is the best public high school in Maryland. It provides its students with extensive resources. The teachers are extremely intelligent, experienced and truly care that their students learn the subjects they teach. The teachers and administration is very responsive and caring. The students get along with each other and for the most part are kind and focused on learning and doing well in school. A large number of AP classes are offered in almost every subject. My daughter did extremely well, got into a top ten university and is attending that university. Churchill prepared her very well for the challenges and rigors of the top university and she is doing very well there. With Churchill you get a world class education that will prepare your child to get into and do well in a top university and beyond (without having to pay a couple of hundred thousand dollars for a private school education)!!Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 12508 Palatine Ct.

"My family lived at 511 Crabb Ave. They bought it the summer of 1954. It was 2 beds with one bath. We had a lot of fun with all the kids on our street. There was a neighborhood elementary school, Maryvale, we walked 2 blocks to the school and in good weather walked home for lunch. I attended Richard Montgomery High School. The metro did not exist at that time. "

"This neighborhood is definitely a very dog friendly place! While I don’t personally have a dog, I see at least 20 dogs go by outside my window every day walking down to Welsh Park. There is a large open field where dogs can run around so many people bring them there. It is also just a neighborhood where a lot of people walk around because there are paths and things like that in Welsh Park as well. "
