8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is currently in the 4th grade, and he has been at Oakville elementary since starting school altogether. I used love him going to this school, used to love how all the teachers and staff were caring and nice to students and parents, and how the curriculum was tough. At this point now thought I am ready to enroll my child into a different BETTER elementary school, even tho myself and my child would rather him finish out his 4th and 5th grade year at Oakville it almost doesn't seem worth it anymore because of how NASTY and EVIL the staff has become at this ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, a school filled with YOUNG CHILDREN. School has just started and I have had 2 encounters that my child has witnessed and been apart of with 2 members of staff over nothing and I just can't imagine how the school itself and the school board would allow such vile people to work with young children. The first was at open house with a new lady at the front desk, all over trying to figure out how to change my address and asking a few questions about the process, I was yelled at IN FRONT OF MY CHILD, she slammed her hands down on the desk IN FRONT OF MY CHILD all while an open house full of parents and children was going on. Instead of arguing with this women me and my child left and he got in the car and was a mess because he is afraid to deal with that women and get treated like I was treated for nothing. Then today in the car rider line my son is screamed at to get out of my car and even though we were very far back in line and no other kids are ever screamed at to get out of the car so far back, then he is looking for his mask which is his fault but I am waiting to make sure he doesn't need his other mask and she is yelling at him to hurry up while he's looking and telling me to not care about if my child needs a mask, I have seen countless times parents wait to make sure their child is okay in the car rider line, I have seen parents physically get out of their car to help their child get out of the car and they are not treated like how myself and my child were, yelled over making sure he didnt need his other mask and yes him not having the mask ready is his fault/ mine for not checking but being treated like crap and disrespected by a member of staff in front of my child and my child being yelled at by this horrible staff member in front of me upsets me. I wonder how these staff members treated our children behind our backs?!?! Not very good it looks like. Our poor childrenParent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 27212 Danville St.

"To different parts of dc where I typically work?... Horrible, unbearable and possibly not worth it. However it might not be far enough to escape over population. I’m not rich but I don’t want to live in a shoe box. The people are people though. I feel like I had more privacy living in an apartment. I guess people have lived here for 15 to 30 years and aren’t trying to have things change. My dogs have been a huge ordeal. From my neighbor spraying one in the in the face from 30 feet with wasp spray to calling animal control on the other one for getting out of the yard for 30 seconds and I scooped her up and carried her back in 35 seconds. So maybe a little further out is better. At least stay out of country lakes. Too much of a mix between old and new."
