7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love this school! They have created an environment that fosters a love of learning. The school is student focused. The staff, the teachers, the activities, even the walls are kid friendly! The academics here are also strong. My child has learned so much and I feel so confident in her future with the foundation Shamrock Springs Elementary has laid at her feet.Parent Review2y ago - Westfield Intermediate School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLearning: 1/5I dread going getting up every morning because of this school. I have never felt so overwhelmed with homework before. Teachers give us an absolutely absurd amount of homework, and they give us very little time to do our work in class which adds to the large amounts of homework. The way we are taught is tedious and boring, this school makes it seem like they are creating an engaging learning environment, but that’s all false. This school makes me want to never get out of my bed. I am filled with dread every time I wake up and hope it’s all some sort of horrible nightmare.Teaching: 2/5In my personal experience, teachers at this school genuinely seem like they want to help students, but I feel like they just don’t end up helping. My teachers are always there to help me and my peers, but only during SRT, and not on Mondays. Teachers are unable to fully help students.Social-emotional support: 4/5 They staff are often available to help students, and teachers will often try make sure students are supported and safe.Special education: 3/5I am not a special ed student and thus cannot be taken as a reliable source of information on this topic, but I do have lower back, hip, knee, and ankle issues and my wellness teacher has been very helpful in making sure I am able to do the activities, and if I can’t do the activity, they let me sit out.Safety:2/5 Students run down the hallways yelling slurs and profanity without any punishment. Students push and shove each other In the hallways and often call others slurs, again without punishment. Family engagement: 2/5My parents often have trouble reaching out to the school, when trying to get me placed in the advanced classes, especially algebra, I deserved after being used as a role model for classes that I was to advanced for, it was nearly impossible to get the school to respond. Overall experience: 2/5This school makes me hate Learning. I dread getting up every morning because of this school. The students are awful and some of the most annoying people you could ever have the displeasure of meeting. The students here seem to find enjoyment in saying the most offensive things ever, so much that it puts Fox News to shame. I hate learning because of this school and this schoolmates me dread waking up in the morning. I am just done. This school ruined me.— anonymous 7th grader10:59pm 11/26/23Student Review5mo ago - Westfield High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is great if you are neurotypical and have the personality of skim milk. I was diagnosed as autistic and they just chose not to honor that diagnosis. After fighting for an IEP since 6th grade, they finally gave me one just to tell me that the solution to my executive functioning issues was to JUST TRY HARDER. Not to mention, people trying to give me new tics (I have Tourette's Syndrome) was treated by being told to ignore it. When they tried to get me to tic a song with a homophobic slur in it, the teacher responded "boys will be boys". I've had similar expirences at other schools in the district too. The counclers try and are genuinly nice but when one of the vice principal calls your sister stupid ("I guess you're not as smart as you think you are") it's a lost cause. Go here if you are neurotypical, straight, cis, white, and enjoy being gaslit into the sentiment that "every student matters" and "every rock valued". If you aren't, good luck. Not to mention that every new science room has 2 televisions that are completely useless because the wifi is made out of gerbils. The school seems to do just enough to seem like everything is fine which just makes anyone not doing well feel like there's something wrong with them. With the amount of mental health issues you or your child will have after leaving this school, my advice, you're better off just getting a GED.Student Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 517 Worth Ct.

"Everyone seems to have a dog and walk them often! We’re only allowed 2 dogs in my condo but people who own their own homes often have three and have fenced in yards for dogs to play in. We also have a dog park in Carmel."

"Carmel is definitely the best city I’ve ever lived in! It has the most amazing school system and I’ve literally experienced zero crime since being here. I can let my girls walk on the Monon trail throughout Carmel and not worry about them and my eight-year-old can ride her bike up and down our street with no fear of anything happening to her! I would never ever leave Carmel! And neighbors are the best definitely look out for one another! "

"Extremely safe and feel at ease letting my 8yr old play outside ! Never ever had any issues what so ever w crime. Super close to any and everything u could possibly need as far as shopping etc.. the schools are best in the state and teachers are amazing, also right on the monon trail almost anywhere in Carmel u live is a few min walk to the trail which is also very safe ! Our neighborhood has block parties and holiday parties ! Would highly recommend anyone to move here. Only negative is that it’s of course quite costly to live here but I guess if u couldn’t afford it u wouldn’t be here looking into moving here!! "

"Great parks and libraries, the best public schools in the Midwest, and very safe community. I would have no issues letting my kids play outside late or biking far distances as this is a very family focused community. Farmers market on weekends. And lots of amazing restaurants and wineries. Also great holiday events and festivals such as forth of July celebrations and annual street art festivals with vendors. "

"I moved from Los Angeles; so what they call traffic here is cute! It is a lot of side streets. The main problem is that Hoosiers love to run red lights because of no traffic cameras, it’s annoying. "

"I have several neighbors with breed specific fear. They tend to overreact when we they see a completely non-aggressive shepherd or pit bull. Be prepared for a lot of neighbors to repeatedly assert their opinions. I have a few neighbors whose dogs travel into our yard frequently, which I don’t mind, but is odd to think that one can allow there dogs to roam (or even nip at children)while challenging others because they imagine what the animal could do, based on breed."
