I am a student at Genoa Kingston Middle School, and when I tell you that it is a bad school district, I'm not lying. The students here are extremely disrespectful, and have no regard for anyone's wellbeing except themselves. The amount of rumors that go around in this school is absolutely atrocious. My daughter has been scared to go to school for this entire school year because of the amount of bullying. She's gone to the councilor, and the principal, and they've failed to do anything about it. It's gotten so bad in fact, that my daughter dreads going to school everyday, and she doesn't even feel safe anymore! It is disgusting to me how these students parents don't teach their children respect. My daughter describes this school as "torture that goes on for 8 hours a day."! No child should feel like that at school! Let alone because of the students! There is also an ungodly amount of racism, sexism, and homophobia! These children are 12 years old and calling people slurs! The teachers also don't do much about it, except "keeping an eye and ear out." They do not do any of this, because this happens in front of the staff as well! Speaking of the teachers, they don't properly teach the students. My daughter who is in 7th grade, feels that she is barely learning anything! Her grades are dropping significantly, and she feels that the classes are boring. Some of the teachers are okay, such as the 7th grade Science and Social Studies teacher. Overall, this district is not great. I wouldn't recommend sending your child here.

Public Schools might work for some people, but others want more for their kids. Genoa Kingston schools are below average. We need vouchers so that the people who want more for their kids can get it.

I hold a terminal degree in education and serve on the faculty at a neighboring district. I am proud that my children attend Genoa-Kingston schools and am thrilled with the overall quality education that they are experiencing.
