So far this school has been great. Mr. McDougall has taken all my concerns seriously and there is a overall great communication between the teachers and parents. Mr. Cameron, the 6th grade science teacher is the best. He's engaged, excited and treats the kids with respect and cares for them. However, there is another teacher who couldn't be bothered to discuss my childs grades, class behavior, etc with me. When performing the 504 plan yearly review this teacher was too busy on their laptop to contribute. And when asked after the 15 minute meeting, the teacher was more worried about getting somewhere else on time. Then the teacher told me that if my child didn't want to pay attention that's on them. I get that, however, let me know about it, don't just write them off. The teacher is leaving soon, so hopefully the environment will be more suitable for learning. This school doesn't have a mid morning break, which I think is horrible. The students are allowed to eat a snack in 3rd period. I would rather have them get out 10 minutes later in the day than be in a classroom for 4 hours straight. However, despite the last two concerns, the environment that Mr. McDougall and Mr. Menti project is awesome! Great leadership!

Other than the fact that this school along with other schools have adopted the Core Curriculum which takes away the ability for us as parents to have any say in what our kids are being taught, Twin lakes school has been great, My kids just started there and I had heard how great it was, and they were right. It is very clean, and my children totally love it. They wish we would have changed them to that school years ago.
