What Locals Say about Oldtown

  • DARREN
"Great small town with good leadership. Growing everyday. People stick to themselves and are over all friendly but like their privacy"

"I'm not a huge fan of Priest River Elementary School the only reason why we need to be moving. My kids are both special needs. lots of bullying and singling out on kids who are different. I love the house, the area and the fact that there's going to be a brand-new Super1 store and Burger King, and along with having a Shopko, Ace Hardware, Albeni Falls hardware store, Safeway, Harvest Foods, and McDonald's, and many other amazing restaurants, parks, and community activities and festivities, it's a very amazing community. The people are wonderful and look out for one another! I will really miss it here in this neighborhood and I will miss Freeman Lake more than anything! Lots and lots of beautiful wildlife and great fishing! You'll love it!"

"We don't really know many people here. They keep to themselves. We are leaving because of severe bullying issues, and Priest River Elementary was not a very good fit for for my twin special-needs children. I fear for their safety with all of the "preditor" wildlife and can't even walk my little senior boston terrier dog without having large neighborhood dogs force us to turn around. I detached myself from my home once I knew their school would not be working out the way we had hoped. I chose to seclude myself because I didn't want my children getting close to other kids if we are just moving away, anyways. If you have healthy, active, fearless, outdoor and bug-loving kids who can fend for themselves, then this may be a great fit! There are a lot of pluses, such as the Shopko, brand new Super 1 Foods being built, and other conveniences that are only 5 minutes away, while living in a country setting. The road is maintained 1st priority on winter mornings because its a school bus route, and overall small-town charm. I'll truly miss the hope I once had for this becoming my forever home. "

" Occasional jet aircraft (ID ANG), but modern soundproof houses muffle that pretty well. Prepare for physical labor just to maintain property. No city services, county coroner will make it out eventually. A+ nearby camp-hunt-hike. Have a few good 4wd vehicles or walk (Prius/Echo okay in summer). Nice neighbors. "
