4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has really fallen in quality from when the long-standing principal left at the end of 2017. The next year saw three different principals, as the person hired first was an utter disaster in terms of fit with the school. Now, six years later, the school rating here has gone from a 7 to a 3, and it shows. The principal is exhausted and bumbling. The assistant principals are clueless. None of them are strong leaders and none of them make their presence known among the students, except in the lunchroom. Students complain regularly about the teachers, the bullying, and the lack of resources. The fun clubs and positive, morale-building activities have fallen completely off the cliff, in favor of more focus on athletics and less focus on academics. As a teacher, the attitude of the other teachers and staff always seemed halfhearted, at best, though there are some true gems few and far between. The kids are great and are truly underserved at this school, sadly.Teacher Review10mo ago - Idlewood Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI wish I could give zero stars. My daughter was sexually assaulted by a boy here in third grade on the bus. It was reported to two principals, the bus driver and I was ensured his parents were told and they apparently were not until over six months later. The same boy showed up at my home when my child had switched to virtually only. He then assaulted my dog. He began stalking her at our home and sexually harassing her. The school refused to do anything because it was not on the bus although that is where he was coming from. I was told to call Dekalb Police who when I called, told me this was a school issue. The board of education said the school should have offered a meeting on school grounds between parents which I actually asked for four times and was told, “we don’t do that.” That was a lie. Finally after months, an assault, an assault on my pet and harassment, the principal told this boys mother…finally….but then told the mother to show up at my home to talk to me without asking my permission for that. The principal said for the mother to have her son show her where we lived and just show up since they would not allow a conversation on neutral school grounds. I was not comfortable with this, this was dangerous and told the principal so who then refused to call the woman back and tell her not to show up to my home. Of course the mother didn’t show because why would she address her son’s assaults? I gave up, I had done everything right with the chain of command but no one would help and no one cared. They put my child in class with that same boy this year. I told the teacher who is the only one who cared. She told the counselor who was not informed of how this boy escalated. She was pushed out of handling the issue by the principal last year and had no idea how bad it got. This school is dangerous, does not teach well, and supports kids who sexually assault little girls. Due to all of this, I am choosing to leave the state entirely next year.Parent Review1y ago - Tucker Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child came in about 2 months ago and was bullied the entire time. The bullying ended with my son in the hospital suffering from a concussion to the head and a seizer. My son was jumped by several students 4+ the first time when they followed my baby into the restroom and 3 the second time (one being the same from the first altercation). Two of those boys stomped on my child's head while he was having a seizer. All of this took place before 9 a.m and from what was told to me teachers were out there and turn their back towards the matter. My youngest son who attends the school as well was pulled out of class, and taken to see his brother unconscious laid out on the floor. He was told his brother hit his head and had a seizer (the same thing that was told to me and my family). To add insult to injury the school sends me paperwork saying my child is suspended all based on the second altercation. Their reason being: allegedly your son was on a recording (taken by a student) walking towards the same individual that jumped him the first time. My child has never had any behavioral problems and always got acknowledge for good behavior at ALL of the schools he attended by his teachers And principles, while the children (that call themselves a gang) have prior records and history of doing these sort of things. My family is so hurt right now my son is hurt physically and mentally. My baby isn't the same after this and I honestly don't know how long it will take for him to get back to normal. I absolutely hate this in I will make it my business to make sure no other child experience what my baby had to go through.Parent Review5mo ago - Check out schools near 4244 Parkview Ct.

"I’ve lived in Water’s Edge for three years now and love it!! This upscale subdivision has beautiful large homes, great amenities - pools, tennis/basketball courts, parks, a large lake, walking trails etc…… it’s very quiet as well. Only thing I’d suggest is private schools. But that’s how Georgia is regardless of location. "

"It seems as though only small dogs are allowed in the area from my observations. I often see neighbors walking their dogs. There are no designated dog or pet areas (like say dog parks) that I know of but, dogs that don't require a lot backyard space or strenuous exercise should fare well here. "
