3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a staff member, my experience with this school has gotten progressively better! The teachers and staff are very friendly and supportive. Whenever I have need help with getting information I am able to connect with the right people and get my matter resolved. I appreciate the leadership of the principal "Dr. G" and the huge task she has with keeping the staff, teachers, and students safe. She is truly "changing the narrative" and is very strict when it comes to not allowing students that are not doing what they are supposed to do stay and cause problems at the school. She is quick to identify issues and move them out when necessary. I really appreciate that! Also the STEAM Academy of Advanced Academics is a great addition to the school and will definitely bring in more bright students and families. I am excited for the future of this school! 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son attends this school and I was hesitant at first because the school is extremely outdated , I mean nothing is appealing about this elementary. The only thing that made me keep him there are the educators . I have never seen teachers who care so much about their students. I do believe the new principle is mediocre. The communication at this school is the worst I’ve ever seen. They tell you the day before about school day events . Their playgrounds are horrible , the school should do some fundraisers . The school needs to be cleaned up. Cobb county needs to invest money into this school. They probably will not because we are in a predominantly black area. Shame on you cobb county . The school also has nice family programs that I do love. There are no after school sports or activities . We have to do better somehow. As much as I love the educators at this school , if I am able to switch schools I will. There are not enough programs at this school. They’re not taught Spanish either and 50% of the school is Hispanic. As soon as this area becomes gentrified I bet this school changes drastically. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was in Accelerated Classes and all of his teachers was AWESOME, however, i cant say the same for the new principle. No events ever start on time. The end of the school year ceremony was so unorganized and started extremely late as if myself and other parents didn't have to go to work after. It was supposed to start at 9am and didn't start till 9:54 am. They didn't allow the students to walk across the stage to receive their certificates which is the reason why you invite the parents to come to the ceremony. My son was on AB honor roll for all 4 semesters and didnt even get recognize, well none of the students got recognized. I really love the AC teachers and wish they can teach my son every year, however, I'm not to please with Dr. McGhee, she isnt approachable at all.Parent Review6y ago

"We have the Epic Center up the road from me for the adults and children. It has a arcade game room and a place to wok out in the gym. I’m pretty sure there are some other activities there like bowling, etc"

"I commute to Dandy Sidings and it takes me about 30 minutes in morning rush hour and about 45 in evening rush hour. Not a bad ride all in all. I do not have to get on the highway pretty much to get anywhere from where I live and that comes in handy. There is a bus route close, never used it but i do see a number of folks utilizing the bus line. "

"Nothing. There is nothing different or unique about this neighborhood. It’s very busy with restaurants and drug store tire shops and of course Walmart but no sole proprietorships or anything that would make others want to be here. The garbage in my complex is a huge problem but it’s pretty safe and I appreciate that above all."
