A wall was built to protect us from active shooter situations, but we only have one door to get in and out of the building when school is in session, so we're basically fish in a barrel. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school needs more recent reviews so that parents know what’s going on. The school is struggling with their scores. They are behind Pasco county education standards and it’s sad. My daughter made honor roll every grading period at this school. They barely taught anything grade level and consistently taught previous year material due to majority of the class not being on grade level or able to read. We moved back to Pasco county and they are saying my daughter is not on grade level and scored a level 1 on reading and math assessments. How is an honor roll student not on grade level? That should tell you everything you need to know about this school. I knew my daughter was in trouble when hw assignments consisted of writing vocabulary words in rainbow colors and learning previous grade math work. In second grade you should be learning multiplication and division and they did not teach it. Now she’s in third grade and is expected to know the material and she does not. This school has failed my daughter and many others. Hernando county has the worst schools and it’s no wonder that the test scores are BAD! The teacher told me that there were children in the class (second grade) that could not read! She said she was so happy that my daughter could read so she can focus on the other students who could not. What a shame! I supplemented through the school year with a IXL program but clearly it was not enough since the school was teaching first grade material to a second grade class. Keep your kids away from this school and any other Hernando county school. The only way these kids have a chance is by remaining in this district because the education standard is LOW so they won’t have to worry about being behind. However, if they leave this district and go to another one, you will see that they are in fact behind and not on grade level. Run!Parent Review7mo ago - Powell Middle School

"From Over 65 retirees to more families with kids. Real close to restaurants, the YMCA, and the community golf course. "

"Lovely scenic neighborhood with usable sidewalks to go on strolls or cycling. Peaceful golf course with a buffered conservation area to prevent stray golf balls hitting the home. Recommend to anyone that likes to live the country(esk) life style, laid back and easy going."

"Spring Hill is a great place in general, Seven Hills in particular. I want it to be my next place of residence! My grandparents lived here for the last 7 years of their lives and were very happy and satisfied. I always enjoyed spending time with them and exploring the area. I would like to continue my family's precedent of retiring in Florida and Spring HIll!"
