8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy girls went to this school for the single worst year of our lives. They were bullied and harassed all year and nothing was done. One was slapped and hit multiple times and not one child even saw detention. I asked for help, begged, I was ignored. There was rampant relationship violence and kids were often jumped in the bathroom. I’ve never heard of so many miserable kids. I’m truly shocked this school has such a good rating. We often heard “they’ve gone to school here for years, they couldn’t be the issue.” Usually when it was a teachers child or a child of their friends. There was little to no help when kids struggled with school work and especially not if they struggled with mental health. Their “counselor” is terrible and they told me the kids mental health wasn’t their issue and to find outside counseling. 100% recommend you stay away from this school. It’s nothing like any public school or base school we’ve experienced.Parent Review6mo ago - Bay Virtual Instruction Program

"I’ve lived here for two years. This has long been known as “Mayberry on the coast”, but we did experience a CAT 5 a year and a half ago. We are coming back stronger!"

"A state Route runs through Mexico Beach, but traffic is rarely so heavy that you can’t cross the street to get to the beach. No traffic lights in town, but no issues with pulling out of neighborhoods onto the state Route. "

"The streets are quiet and wide, nice for walking a dog or two. Dogs are not permitted on the beaches in town, but just a couple miles down the road, you can walk your dog on a leash. "

"Hurricane Michael recovery dangerous for dogs unleashed. Wildlife has been displaced. Can not walk dogs on beach. "

"Lived here for 3 years folks are friendly and look out for each other! Know I can visit Tallahassee for a few days and leave my elderly father and neighbors will check on him for me! "

"We enjoy live music at local bats and restaurants. We are staying at the Rustic Sands Campground and they have live music as well on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights."
- Med L.

"Best reef system in the South East due to the efforts of MBARA and their sponsors. Tourism is kept at bay by the lack of hotels. Its' the way Florida use to be. Wonderful. "

"Mexico Beach is a small town with a big heart. The locals are friendly and outgoing and the businesses are run with interest and care. The old time atmosphere of peace, quiet, no rush, no problem is like stepping back sixty years in time. Only a short ride to Apalachicola, Panama City, Port. St. Joe for shopping and something different to see and do. "
