3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThese reviews are all about the gifted program if you aren’t gifted it’s like you don’t matter teachers are always taking days off and they have hall sweeps which makes it harder to get to class because they get drowned with overwhelming thoughts about a hallsweep when they take your phone it goes to the police officer and they call your guardian to get it if the guardian can’t get the phone they keep it until the next morning when your child arrives which makes parents AND students angry, sad, and a bunch of other feelings it isn’t fair they dont give it back because they were on it what if it was an emergency? or they absolutely needed to text an adult to pick them up or something terrible happened and they can’t take it anymore that just adds to the stress of the child for the day but now to bring up being in gifted they give out SO MUCH HOMEWORK!!!! it is simply unfair for students to have to go home and do all the work leaving about no time to do anything for themselves but if you are lucky you have teachers that dont give out much hw because they know the issues it can cause like adults being frustrated with the child and angry that they cant get the child to get the answer and the child getting upset that they are being yelled at over something they are confused on or just can’t remember what they learned in class which isnt their fault because there are 6 classes a day so we can’t expect them to remember EVERYTHING they learn its 55 minutes per class and i know there are schools that have an hour an a half of learning now there is the reflection den a room that they send kids to for bad behavior sometimes it is necessary sometimes it is NOT i think teachers are overusing the power if sending kids out so I wouldn’t recommend sending your child here or else you might here a TON of complaints about the rules and unfairness towards the kidsParent Review1y ago - Mount Pleasant High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUpon moving here, my children entered as their feeder school. My kindergartner was put in a class with a child that had special needs. Everyday he came home with marks on him. After months of this I got tired of it and asked if he could change classrooms. The principal did oblige and he ended up thriving with his new teacher and didn’t come home with marks on him anymore. My fourth grader had a horrible experience. We went from a school that had a high conflict resolution in place, and kids didn’t really bully each other because of it. The 4th/5th graders in this school (at least my sons class) were pretty aggressive. I witnessed two fights standing outside waiting to be let in on our first day. I also saw kids pushing each other to get in school first, multiple kids fell on the floor and I literally watched the principal walk by and not do anything. It definitely felt like my kids were thrown into a scary situation. My 4th grader was punched several times by classmates and stabbed in the arm after being pinned by another classmate. On top of that my sons MAP scores dropped significantly. I don’t feel that the school is properly staffed to be able to do a whole lot about anything. Good teachers are leaving for better schools. Kids are out of control. I contacted the superintendent and the school board early into our year here. I received no response from the super about bullying. The school board had mostly out of touch answers such as brandywine school district has a 0 tolerance for bullying etc. when the super finally got back to me he stated the wrong school in his email which showed to me he didn’t even bother reading my email. I don’t place some blame on this school because I do see failures at many levels within the district.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 311 Beverly Pl.

"It's quiet. A few kids, but not to many. The green is green here. There's no sidewalks, however we share the road. The neighborhood is not to far from the city. About 2mins away from the city, and 5mins from the hwy. Many shopping center, grocery store, gas stations, liquor store, convenient store, ect. There's a gym in one of the shopping centers. It's an awesome place to raise a family/commute to where ever. "

"I have lived in Edgemoor Terrace for 2 years, and I just love it. When we decided to purchase our home here, we were not familiar with the area. There is a pretty rough neighborhood behind ours and sometimes kids from there or from the city come into our neighborhood to commit petty crimes like stealing bikes - but generally the neighborhood is quite quiet and friendly. There are lots of people out walking their dogs and kids when it's warm outside - even though there are no sidewalks, it is safe. Car traffic on my street (North Stuyvesant) is very rare - just people who live here drive past my house. I feel very safe here. Full disclosure: We do occasionally hear gunshots coming from the neighborhood behind us, but I think that's pretty common when you live very near an urban area. You can't beat the proximity to 495, 95, Philadelphia, North Wilmington, and Glenn Mills/West Chester, PA areas. I am literally 10-20 minutes from EVERYTHING in this neighborhood - it is so wonderful! I just became actively involved in the Edgemoor Terrace Civic Association (edgemoorterrace.com), and there are a lot of great people, events, and things going on in the neighborhood like picnics, holiday parades and parties, pot lucks, and happy hours. It is truly a wonderful place to live. :)"

"I can't say enough about how nice the people are in this area. You can walk everywhere, there are cute shops and restaurants right in Bellefonte on Brandywine, and Ginger's is one of the best bakeries around. People keep up their homes nicely, the sidewalks make it safe for our kids to ride bikes or walk, and the whole neighborhood gets together and does fun things. Don't miss the Art festival in June! Local arts and crafts, live music and food, and the St. Helena's Church Festival is one of our favorites every year. Just a great place to live in Delaware. "
