If you have a child outside the box, it will be a nightmare especially if they are needing special needs and need effective curriculum management and accommodations. This includes 504 plans. We graduated a while ago and the SSN program was an absolute nightmare. Just sitting in a classroom holding hands and being nice and good is not education.. it is a holding spot. Special Ed students, especially those that are SSN and 504 students deserve more. 9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBVSD is an awful school district. If your child has any disabilities or require extra help, you can count on them not to do their job. They will punish your child and label them difficult. If your child has an IEP, they will do everything they can NOT to follow it. If you complain, they will make up stories and report you to child services to punish you, and to let you know that you can't win. Sure, you can report them to the Department of Education. But don't count on them helping. Chances are, someone from the Department is good friends with someone from the school district so they'll drop your complaint. My advice is, stay away from BVSD if possible. If you have problems, get an attorney. Don't waste your time trying to work with them. As far as the so called high test scores.
