3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePeople are very nice the school but as far as support and accountability extra help is hard to come by as my child was not supported at all and fell behind. And although my child’s teacher agreed immediately to have my child change schools without even letting us know there’s other options when I had asked about her level of reading and understanding in that same school, and we felt there was no effort on their part to help our child. And when it came closer to the end of the school year we were told there was finally some support we felt it there was no real effect as they decided to focus on other things then what was needed. I write this objectively as now my child “started to attend a different school” and within the first month without asking they asked us if they could give our child extra help in the subjects needed to improve upon, which is literally night and day from this school. I know my experience was not the same as other parents at Westgate but I had to get it off my chest as that is how we felt. And am I ever glad I switched schools.Parent Review6mo ago - Manning Options School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school supports all students and helps me as a student with special needs succeed. Many of the negative reviews are from when the school had a different principal. I have had bad experiences with some teachers but most are thoughtful and expect all students. Although this school has some dumb rules and high goals. I have found that they do a lot to help students succeed.Student Review7mo ago - Bear Creek High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy time at Carmody has been absolute hell! The teachers do absolutely nothing about bullying. Though, they had *decent* education, the students at this school are absolutely UNHINGED. The most they've given us to prevent such problems was a slideshow while everyone was half-asleep after arriving to their first class. I have been called unspeakable things that not even Andrew Tate would say. Students say racial slurs, and despite that they said it right in front of the teacher, they have done nothing. Fights happen regularly, and occur in transitions from class-to-class. They make recess mandatory, cramming students outdoors in frigid weather and refusing to let them inside when they get cold. One time, my friend came in from "lunch break" with GRAPE-PURPLE fingers and shaky hands. Overall, this school DOES educate their students, but they do little to nothing against bullying and treatment to their kids. Carmody constantly stressed me to the point where I wouldn't come to school due to the treatment I got. Please do not send your children here, there are much better schools than Carmody.Parent Review11mo ago - Dennison Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately All five of my siblings and I had the "opportunity" to go to D'Evelyn. However as many would assume/expect that we were lucky, it was the complete opposite experience. I would never recommend this school to anyone... it is actually HORRIBLE. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you care about your child's education, then do not go to this school. No grades, no real guidance, no discipline, no structure and no motivation geared towards actual education. It does not hold kids accountable, does not teach responsibility and does not set kids up for success.Parent Review1mo ago - Jefferson County Open Secondary

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school only works for a very small number of learners. The quality of teachers is really hit or miss. The ideology behind this learning environment is student lead learning. Unfortunately if you have anything other than an outstanding teacher the student is left to fail academically while shouldering the blame for not being self-directed. A few students thrive, unfortunately many are poorly prepared academically for life after high school. The administration is unwilling or unable to fully accept responsibility for the safety of their students during school hours. Drug use, alcohol consumption, and sex on campus does occur at this secondary school which shares a campus with K-6. Do not accept the hype that the community environment is so great that these students respect the rules. I was recently informed that 1/2 of the class in one of my students electives chooses to regularly not attend that class. No attendance is recorded and they are simply unaccounted for during this time. This did not seem problematic to the teacher at all. I'm unsure how this compares to other schools. I was surprised this type of behavior existed, since the number of students that are enrolled at JCOS is so low, and the advisers claim to be deeply invested. The administration's response is that the students are choosing to break the rules and it is not the schools philosophy to police them. There are very few extra curricular activities offered through the school. There is almost no focus on physical education. PE classes that do exist have almost entirely male enrollment. A holistic approach to education is not embraced here. The exceptional outcome that occasionally occurs at this school is promoted as the norm. Please be aware that it is not.Parent Review5y ago - Check out schools near 3315 S Ammons St #205.

"There are really great parks, especially Belmar, where there is music, other events, the public library, an outdoor museum with old buildings, tons of wildlife and many trails to walk on. “Downtown” Belmar is nice too. Needs more restaurants though, especially on the plaza where Baker Street used to be. "

"I visit family every week here and it's a nice and quiet place. I have really enjoyed how peaceful it is in this neighborhood and I would like to stay. It's just getting expensive and I can't afford to pay for everything. I just hope I find something else just as nice or better."

"We don't have any because most of us are too worried about keeping our homes with the ever-rising housing costs displacing most of the working class locals "

"Not a lot makes my neighborhood unique outside of a few lucky families owning small farms. It's pretty much just like every other neighborhood that the transplants haven't developed just yet so us working class locals can somewhat afford to live here. There are gunshots, dumpy abandoned cars and the occasional loose dog but I'll take that over the neighborhoods filled with giant apartment complexes and Californians "

"Belmar Park is 135 acres of natural beauty and wildlife. Plus, the heritage center and outdoor museum, and the amphitheater with concerts and movies. Plus cider days and other events at the park. And Camp Christmas! It’s close to Belmar shopping district, and I love that too. Close to I70 and downtown. "

"You see dog owners and myself walking dogs often. The dogs are welcome in most everywhere I have traveled with mine. (I can't say there has been anywhere she has not been welcome). I think as long as they are not aggressive you would be able to take them most places with enthusiasm. Even eateries. "

"This neighborhood is an older, blue-collar area that feels safe. A lot of residents own dogs and take good care of them (use a leash, pick up waste, etc.). There is lots of good food delivery options and is close to Belmar retail shopping center. 15 minutes to downtown Denver and 15 minutes to foothills. "

"This neighborhood is safe, quiet, near great hiking trails, and has lots of friendly people who help each other out. There are two kind gentlemen who shovel the entire neighborhood's sidewalk every time it snows, and even shovel nearby folks driveways. I can't rave enough about how amazing the neighbors are this area. There's no HOA but everyone keeps their houses/lawns decently aesthetic. Lastly, Arizona Place and the surrounding neighborhoods back up to a high school, so you will always see people out walking their dogs. I would highly recommend Lakewood/Green mountain as a place to live, own dogs, raise children, and enjoy nature. "
