What Locals Say about Mid Wilshire

  • 79vb8t6r6c
"Limited sidewalks and street lighting at night. I rarely walk or stroll around in the area and drive everywhere. A few restaurants and a coffee shop is walkable, about 15 minutes on near Wilshire."

"It’s a different neighborhood than it was just a few years ago. I think it works a best for people who leave the area for the day and if they go out they also leave the area for that and just stick around on the weekends. Then is very tolerable. "

"Lived here 2007 to 2021. Lots of fun for nightlife, outdoor activities, arts scene. Very central location: 10mins to Echo Park, Silverlake, West Hollywood. 15mins to Burbank or the mountains. 30mins to the beach. Areas are very mixed demographics from one block to the next. Street parked cars often have break-ins. Sidewalks are broken and cars speed through residential streets. Not great for a family."

"It’s bustling and close to everything you could need. We walk to most places - grocery stores, restaurants, the Grove, LACMA. It can be loud at times, and people love to drive too fast down residential streets, but otherwise it’s a nice place to live. "

"Walking distance to Trader Joe’s, post office, Staples, The Grove, etc. Parking can be difficult. If you say hi to someone, they will rarely say hi back. It’s safe to walk around at night. However, I usually can’t walk more than a block without seeing at least a couple homeless people."
