I felt supported by teachers, was in a couple clubs, was in choir and had several friends throughout my experience. I felt like it was a pretty balanced school with opportunities for students to be a part of anything they wanted to try. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was in transitional Kindergarden at La Pluma Elementary. There was a lack of racial diversity there but the worst part is, my daughter was expelled after four days, because her teacher didn't have any patience and definitely gave off bad vibes from day one. This despite my daughter testing very well.It was my daughters first time attending school and myself and my wife didn't get any updates on my child's behavior until the day she was expelled for being "too excited". I don't like to play the race card but my daughter is Black and I heard other Black parents speak about how their kids were also mistreated at La Pluma. She was the only Black Student in her class.I placed my daughter in another school nearby and her performance and behavior has been GREAT. It's been over a month without any issues and she's learning everyday. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAmazing school, would really recommend, the experience in the school is overall great. Teachers really help with homework when needed, some fights here and there but it is handled quickly and with care. Our chorus, band, and orchestra are really sounding great, most of my friends have really good grades and so do I, if your thinking of putting your child in this school, don’t think twice because this is such a beautiful school. "There are many parks in the area. Regional park is especially impressive with its large fishing pond, walking paths, indoor and outdoor sports centers, disc golf course, a water park, and a library all on the same grounds. Family events are also held in the park, with the biggest event of the year being the fireworks show on July 3rd."

"My mom grew up in La Mirada and bought a house in La Mirada. I hope to do the same and raise my own children here! It is an amazing city, with a small town feel, perfectly situated between the OC and LA. We truly get the best of both worlds. Freeway access is easy and getting better. Parks and community services/activities are AMAZING and many people from other local cities come to enjoy our events! We LOVE La Mirada💛"
