5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageE.V.Cain Charter Stem Middle School is a great school! As one of only three middle schools in the region from Colfax to Rocklin, E.V.Cain offers a comprehensive program that a K-8 school cannot compete with. This includes Honors' Classes, the widest possible range of electives from Beginning to Advanced Band, Community Service, two computer labs for classes, and a host of electives too numerous to mention here. The 6th grade science program-- spear-headed by Don Scott--has one of the finest science programs anywhere in Placer County, with numerous awards achieved by students in the acclaimed annual Science Fair. It's location next to the Placer County Library gives E.V. Cain students access to the material in the library, the ONLY middle school in Placer County next door to a county library! E.V. Cain offers 6-8 counseling services and a wider range of Special Education Services on campus, with which no K-8 school in the area can compare. The sports' programs at E.V. Cain are also outstanding, and since there are 500 students all in grades from 6-8 on ONE site, the sports' program is diversified offering students many different opportunities to compete and excel, especially since it has not ONE, but TWO gyms in which to practice. The wrestling program has long been a treasure with many students going on to Placer to dominate over other schools. E. V. Cain offers students a chance to experience multiple teachers during the school day, which is a huge benefit in preparation for high school. Teachers are sensitive to students' individual needs and understand the middle school child's need for guidance as well as increased responsibility in preparation for high school. E.V. Cain is an outstanding school, and in an era where districts cannot afford to host a middle school dedicated just to students from 6-8th grades, E.V. Cain offers a unique climate not found elsewhere. All five of my kids attended this school, and every one of them was well-prepared for high school where they all excelled thanks to the preparation they received here.Parent Review1y ago - Skyridge Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlacer High School stands out among its counterparts across California. Notably, it is one of only two high schools in the state that features an open campus, creating an environment reminiscent of a college setting. This institution encourages students who are driven and eager to learn by offering Advanced Placement classes and numerous club opportunities to foster growth and engagement. Regrettably, the school also permits room for those who wish to embrace a more lethargic lifestyle and delve into the subculture.Athletics holds significant prominence at Placer High, which boasts a rich history of cultivating top-tier athletes and successful teams. Even as a relatively inconspicuous student who graduated back in 1977, I found that the school effectively prepared me for both college and the subsequent phases of my life. I wholeheartedly endorse Placer High School for students seeking a superior educational experience.Parent Review11mo ago - Check out schools near 189 College Way.
