SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Trulia®, a home and neighborhood site for homebuyers and renters, today introduced Trulia Neighborhoods, a first-of-its-kind experience sharing crowdsourced local knowledge, original photography, and drone footage. With information on local safety, commute, and parent reviews of nearby schools, Trulia Neighborhoods gives consumers a genuine feel for what it’s like to actually live in a neighborhood. Trulia’s new on-the-ground approach to neighborhoods helps consumers answer practical questions and determine if a neighborhood fits their lifestyle and needs.
Trulia Neighborhoods brings to life Trulia’s new mission: to build a more neighborly world by helping consumers discover a place they will love to live. Through extensive consumer research commissioned with Harris Interactive, Trulia found buyers and renters were craving more neighborhood information and details. In fact, Trulia found 85 percent of homebuyers who plan to buy a home within 18 months say that the neighborhood is equally or more important than the house.
Trulia Neighborhoods is the first product of its kind to give consumers an authentic feel for everyday life in a neighborhood. Rather than visiting multiple websites or scheduling a variety of neighborhood visits, Trulia Neighborhoods gives buyers and renters the chance to uncover and evaluate all factors of a neighborhood, even the intangibles such as vibe, friendliness and street noise.
“Prior to Trulia Neighborhoods, there wasn’t a resource that showed consumers what life is really like in a neighborhood,” said Tim Correia, senior vice president and general manager, Trulia. “Our research found consumers were determined to find this type of information and even developed a series of hacks to source these valuable insights. It was clear it was time to rebuild the home and neighborhood discovery experience from the ground up and empower consumers with all the information to make the best decision for themselves.”
Trulia Neighborhoods follows the launch of two additional neighborhood products introduced by Trulia this year, including What Locals Say and Local Legal Protections. By combining original visuals with local insights and public data, Trulia Neighborhoods enables buyers and renters to:
- Get direct resident feedback: Trulia’s What Locals Say feature shares unique resident insights and feedback on the neighborhood nuances that can’t be found anywhere else including ease of parking, whether the park is dog-friendly, or if neighbors decorate their homes for the holidays. To date, more than 15 million locals have submitted responses and neighborhood reviews.
- Dive into a neighborhood: Trulia deployed teams across U.S. neighborhoods to capture unique, day-in-the-life content to give buyers and renters an authentic view of where residents spend their time. Trulia Neighborhoods features never-before seen aerial drone footage, high-resolution photo galleries, and “Inside the Neighborhood” stories, creating a visually-rich look of what life is really like.
- Uncover local highlights and amenities: Discover the top 20 local favorites and see what amenities are available in and near the neighborhood boundaries.
- Access hyper-local safety insights: Trulia Neighborhoods provides a local perspective on safety, such as if the streets are well lit and if there are paved sidewalks.
Trulia Neighborhoods is launching nationally, with enhanced photography and drone footage available in more than 300 neighborhoods in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Austin, and Chicago. More than 1,100 additional enhanced neighborhoods will be introduced throughout 2018.
