I don't think the mental and emotional well being of students is a priority at SFE. Group punishment is often used during recess. Lunch time isn't enough for kids to sit and finish their meal. The district and school administration pushed against parent requests and OSPI recommendations to extend lunch.

Our kindergarten teacher was amazing and now so is 1st grade! The staff have been great supports for my son and worked well with him on controlling his impulses and behavior. My only complaint is that there are very few and small consequences for students when they misbehave. My son has had a few big problems but the school consequences for his behavior has been minimal or none at all. (Of course we had consequences at home!) It sometimes feels like the needs of a few outweigh the needs and rights of the majority at this school in terms of problematic behavior and needs.

I will never recommend this school compare with other schools in Everett school district. One of 5th grade teacher join from other school where she was principal and disappeared from that school without any notice or explanation to parents. She is trying to run this school with racism between some favorite students and other students. She doesn’t come from empathy background and always try to find mistakes from other kids.
