"I commute to Ft. Belvoir. It takes me 35 to 50 minutes depending on traffic. Old Bridge is pretty bad in the morning, especially when school is in session. "

"The commute around town is good, with the exception of rush hour. We are just south of Washington, DC and right off 95. It is a very busy little suburban area!!!"

"It takes a while to get from place to place in rush hour, but after living here for 20 + years, I’ve become very accustomed to it! Otherwise, commuting is not really all that bad!"

"I do not commute, so I would not know. However, I live close by Tacketts mill and I see the parking lot full on most days so I assume many use it, which is convenient. "

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is not for children that have IEP. The staff and teachers have zero training on accommodations that children with disabilities may require. Be ready to advocate for your children. The special education teachers are quick to recommend medications when in reality they are the ones that need up-to date training on special education. The teachers arent trained to implement IEP with integrity. They base their decision on personal feelings rather than whats best for the student. The staff and teachers are unwelcoming. It is not an inclusive school at all. They also share information about your children with other parents which is very unprofessional.Parent Review1y ago18 Reviews - Lake Ridge Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageParents beware, this school is only good for neurotypical children but for children with disabilities this school is too limited and doesn't offer support. We had an awful experience. They tend to spend the minimum sources for children with disabilities and keep them in an non inclusive secluded environment which is detrimental for them to thrive. Not to mention that the teacher turnover rate is very high.Parent Review2mo ago13 Reviews - Antietam Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThink the old reviews were bad? Think again. The difference between the previous owner and the new management during the 2025–2026 school year is impossible to ignore. The former owner was at least present, addressed problems directly, and gave clear answers. The new owner is absent, and it shows.Since the transition, at least one grade has become a cautionary tale: frequent teacher absences, last-minute substitutes, and no consistent curriculum. When families raised concerns, they were met with polished, evasive responses that sounded more like PR spin than genuine engagement. Reports of troubling student experiences circulated widely, and several families withdrew after repeated issues. The situation became so notorious that even parents outside the affected grade were aware something was seriously wrong. Schoolwide events were often promoted with fanfare but lacked substance, leaving families confused and unsupported. The new leadership also seems to misunderstand why families choose private education. Many parents seek a learning environment free from political messaging. Instead, overt ideological symbols and affirmations appeared throughout the school. Some were later removed, but not before trust was eroded. Not only that, the head of school has publicly expressed a dismissive attitude toward parents. In a widely visible Facebook post, he wrote: “I cannot stress this enough, you are not teachers. I mean, like me, some of you are. But for the most part, you are not trained to bring planned instruction to your children.” This confirmed what many already suspected: a leadership style that talks down to families rather than collaborating with them. Given his controversial history at Twin Rivers and JO Wilson—both of which faced serious community backlash during his tenure—this isn’t surprising. At this point, it’s hard to believe the new leadership has any intention of improving. PWA now barely distinguishes itself from the local public schools—aside from uniforms, the “private” label, and a hefty tuition bill.Parent Review2mo ago36 Reviews - The Goddard School Lake Ridge
