Combat Village

My daughter was not a drop out and did not fail out of school. She just needed some extra help in math and one on one tutiring . Instead this school put her in an 11th English class that has 5th grade requirements ie. The 8 parts of speech and now this week transition words. They are not reading any literature in 11th grade. Last year when she was homeschooled she read American Literature classics and now nothing. She was pit into a geometry class and I am well aware that proficiency of a real high school geometry class requires a prerequisite of Algebra. She does not have a solid grasp of Algebra but she is told she is doing well in geometry. She needs math help and she is not getting it - help to learn the material not just help to pass the tests. My daughter was a blue belt in Tae Kwan Do but apparently that Highschool physical ed. Credit was not accepted. Instead she was told if she keeps track of walking a dog she will get credit. That is crazy. My daughter had to bring her last two years of all the work she completed in order to register for this school. The school has not given them back to her. This is all her material after doing two excellent years of schooling and this must be returned. My daughter told me she had to register for this school because she is a dumb like the other kids there. She is not dumb - she came to this country at age 15 and learned a new language - speaking, reading and writing while engaged in a Classical Christian College Prep program and now all the Manassas schools can offer her is classes at New Direction where classes are dumbed down so kids can pass.
