"It's important to teach your kids not to litter. That is my only complaint with living in this area is college kids (entitled sorority girls/frat boys) use the streets as their trash can. As if there’s a nighttime street maid. "

"Not too many dog parks unfortunately but other than that it’s a great place to raise your companion. "

"You will see dog walkers everywhere! A lot of the apartment complexes accommodate dog-owners by providing dog parks and restroom areas. Most complexes have an added charge for pets—such as deposit and monthly fees. There are a lot of sidewalks and nature areas you can take your dogs to in West Campus—a great one is Pease District Park! A lot of restaurants also allow dogs in the outdoor areas."

"West Campus is heavily influenced by university life, but is still unique to the Austin culture. This is the place to live if you want to truly experience the college life of Austin! It is mainly university students who live here. There's a lot to do within walking distance, such as restaurants, bars, and a wide variety of small music venues with shows for any musical interest. The University is part of West Campus and holds huge events such at UT football games, accompanied by tailgates and after-parties. Fraternities and co-op housing also have parties on the weekends."

"My commute is 10—45 minutes, depending on traffic. Driving through West Campus can be a little hectic with all the students driving around, but the very accessible Austin bus system also runs throughout West Campus."

"This is very active neighborhood that reminds me a little bit of New York. So I can't say that it's the best place to live if you have kids, but it's definitely great place if you are a young family."

"West Campus is mainly a college-student neighborhood, but there are areas within West Campus that are kind of separate from all the college life (quieter and calmer)—usually the streets with more houses further from the dense apartment complexes. It is a safe area, but there are usually partiers walking around late at night on the weekends. West Campus living is in high demand from students, so in most cases you will get a lot less space for your money in comparison to nearby neighborhoods."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt is really fun for the first few years. However, after the first year or so you begin to question their method of teaching students. It is a very difficult transition in and out of the school. In addition, they do not offer essential things to any child's learning. They do not have history classes, social studies, and art class. There is no homework, and it is easy to not pay attention and not learn anything for months, and the teachers would not care and/or notice.Parent Review4y ago11 Reviews - Long-View Micro School
