His teacher gave him bad behavior marks often when I asked why, I received written reasons like "smiled at a fellow student while walking to desk" and "crossed his eyes during story time"...really?! Then he was expected to do homework he couldn't do. I spent like 2 hours trying to teach him in the evenings but the curriculum and time restraint made it hard to help him catch up. At a teacher/parent meeting, she told me he had a "dis-connect." He began speaking very early and always received compliments from Sunday school teachers on behavior- never an issue, always a bright boy! During his kindergarten year, he seemed to even forget some of what I had taught him and became frustrated and discouraged. Then, he set back on some faulty playground equipment and got a 1" bleeding gash in his head that had to have 2 staples. No apology from the school. They act like everything (learning, injuries) are the kids' or parents' fault. I pulled him out for 1st grade and homeschooled him. I had him tested afterwards and he is at 1st grade reading level and 2nd grade math level. I wouldn't send my kids to this school if I were you!Parent Review10y ago4 Reviews - The King's Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are only three teachers in the high school. They routinely leave classes unattended and unsupervised for long periods of time in which the kids have the freedom to say and do whatever they please. There are no extra resources for students that might need additional classroom help. The teachers are all paid so little that they have to have second jobs, so they leave immediately after school and are not available for after school help. No tutoring is available and there is no help for special needs children. The children are routinely left alone and unsupervised in unsafe environments, which leads to injuries and bad situations. The staff routinely makes excuses and covers up those instances. Racism and sexual harassment is a daily occurrence at this school. Parents have on multiple occasions brought this to the administrators attention but they refuse to do anything about it, and it continues. They have a hard time keeping female students as a result, as the male students are never held accountable for blatant sexual harassment of the females. Racism runs deep, as the N word is thrown around regularly, as well as other similar references. The environment is not a safe one. Parents who have the most money to donate to the school get the benefit of the doubt, and their children can literally get away with murder. The school handbook on discipline is not followed. As parents we presented the administration with the handbook and asked why it wasn’t being followed when our children were being abused and mistreated by other students and we were smirked at. Kids here get away with things they would be expelled for at public schools. This is not a safe school. This is by far not a Christian school. They operate as a “Christian school” in name only but their actions say different. If you value your children’s safety, psychological safety and mental stability, stay away. There are much better options.Parent Review1y ago9 Reviews
