Pecan Terrace

I’m a mentor in the unique program at TKE which allows myself and others to mentor the students there. It fosters personal development and aids in the care of the students. Every time I visit everyone is so pleasant and has inviting personalities. The school is well-kept and all students are treated with the upmost respect.

Our Lady of the Rosary School (OLR) is holy place and one that has been an honor to be a part of for the past nine years. Holy meaning it is wholly human and one striving to bring its students, staff and parents into contact with Christ daily. Each morning before school begins, leaders in the upper school lead sung morning prayer from “The Little Office” in the Church before the Blessed Sacrament as a thanksgiving for the day and what is to come. The students attend adoration with their class weekly and some of the older students elect to spend time in adoration during their lunch and recess. School Mass ends the week and the students take pride in serving the Church whether it be through the choir (that will without a doubt give you chills) or the army of young men altar serving. When you look out on the playground during recess or in the courtyard after a Mass or an event it is like grades and age don’t matter. They come together to either talk amongst themselves or play with each other. Christ is present and He is working in this holy human of a place. As a mother of kids who are only just beginning their journey at OLR I can not wait for them to go on this ride that I have been able to watch others’ children go on. It has been a blessing to see the older students grow into their faith and into formed young adults. These are the hidden and unmeasurable things that in the eyes of the world may seem so small and not matter but we as Catholics know is what shapes us and sets us apart to go and be “in the world but not of the world.”
