Ironton

I love this school. Located in North Whitehall, it is definitely a school where the kids come from mostly a 2 parent middle class household and the parents are very involved, so the kids are well rounded and polite, good kids. The principal is wonderful and personable and the staff are superb. I have yet to meet a teacher or staff member I didn’t like. The school counselor is absolutely amazing and knows each kid by name so I know my kids are in good hands when I drop them off. The additional support my kids receive is wonderful and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the enthusiastic communication I receive from the school when I reach out with questions or concerns. I love the small feel of the school and how my child is not another number. The class sizes are manageable and most importantly, my kids feel heard and respected and love the school and their friends. I cannot say enough good things about Ironton. It will be hard to top when the kids go off to middle school.

Rating 1 out of 5 We were fooled like a lot of other parents that we bought our house in the best school district. If your ok with your 4th grader not being able to write a sentence they will push them on anyway their solution your child will somehow pick things up by osmosis. We pulled out kids out and went to cyber school. Best thing ever I have spent the past year closing a three year education gap and my kids are thriving. Be warned on the tactics they pull funny how they don’t mind poor performing students opting out of state testing but won’t let your child repeat a year? The school board is out of touch outdated favors teachers unions and avoiding lawsuits. Oh and by the way they won’t tell you directly but they really believe they know how to better educate your child than you do !
