8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool have grown enrollment over the past few years. School district has handled it very well. I have coworkers whose kids go to other Troy elementary and I find Cookson stacks right up with all of them. Cookson does a fantastic job educating our kids and getting them ready for middle school. We would not send our daughter anywhere where else. We love Cookson!! 10/10Parent Review3mo ago10 Reviews - Kyle Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageKyle School is a place where the teachers really care about kids and are willing to go out of their way to meet the needs of their students. It’s a place where children discover that making mistakes is how we learn and growth is made by overcoming challenges and never giving up. Students are taught that integrity is achieved by making good choices in life (even when no one is watching). Students are given tools to help them be responsible and take ownership of their own learning.Teacher Review7y ago2 Reviews - Van Cleve Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUNPLEASANT! If you're considering moving to the Troy area and you have children, look into open enrollment in other districts and or private schools. St. Patrick's and Troy Christian. I regret not sending my children to either. Was willing to give TPS the benefit of the doubt. I should have listend to other parents of children in Troy public schools or have had children formally enrolled. This district should be embarrassed!Parent Review6y ago2 Reviews - Forest Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm not sure where some of these reviews are coming from. They must be from those "chosen" parents. My experience has not been so great. The teacher to student ratio average is 25 students to 1 teacher (that is what I have been told by the principal on several occasions as an excuse to why the teacher didn't have time for my child) and it shows. They are more worried about cramming as much in a school day as possible and if the child is not understanding or struggles with what is tought, a portion of the child's recess is held as punishment so that he can finish what the teacher didn't have time for in class to explain. A child with special needs like mine requires accommodation however, was told that they couldn't work with me because any accommodation that would be suggested was already being implemented with all students. I find that hard to believe considering they didn't even attempt to ask what the acccomodations were. I feel like this schools rating may be falsely credited with only the select few people willing to credit them and may not be from parents whose children CURRENTLY attend this school. My child has gone here for the last 2 years and it is truley a struggle. Since they were made aware of my child's needs their attitudes changed. My suggestion to anyone who may be looking at sending your child to this school is to do some research. I believe you will find more unsatisfied parents. I found several parents that had the same complaints mostly through talking to other parents through my child's team sports meets only after registering my child to this school. Please do your research before choosing this school, your child will thank you for it.Parent Review9y ago3 Reviews - St Patrick School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe've had two daughters go through St. Pats, and we couldn't have been happier! Not having to take state tests is enough to make it better than public school!Parent Review10y ago2 Reviews - Troy Online Academy
