Central Avenue Park

I think I would put no stars if I could. My son went to Pre K here and the teacher was rude as can be, then my son tells me that the teacher helper in the room has scratched him numerous times pulling him out of the bathroom because he was not hurrying on washing his hands and then pulled him out of class because he had to go to the bathroom and he did not get up fast like she wanted him too! I don’t agree with anyone touching my child like that! I even have pictures of the scratches and marks on him. I reported it to the Board of Education and he no longer goes to that school, I transferred him out. Teacher did not seem to be interested in fixing the issue either and didn’t help she was rude and the way she spoke to parents made them feel they were nothing.

My experience at this school was terrible. The behavior and attitude of kids at this school is no different, if not worse, than public school kids. Bullying, harassment, MULTIPLE incidents of sexual harassment, and discrimination were common issues here and the staff didn't take much action to stop these issues. And some of the teachers are awful; poor communication, teaching, and attitude towards the kids. I feel like most people of color were targeted by staff and looked down upon because of stereotypes imposed on POC. The staff here does not care about students' well being or mental health, they preach the bible and correct the kids "mistakes" instead of giving emotional support and encouragement. They use the bible to sugarcoat everything. Overall, this school is toxic, discouraging, underfunded, sexist, lazy, and just a bad school. I see why the number of students decreased each year.

Similar to the other reviewers, we have not had a good experience with this school. I would not recommend it to any other families.
