"I have lived in this neighborhood for 7 years. I think of some neighbors as friends we help each other out. While there is a lot of crime and it tends to be dangerous. It would be a nice place if the city invested more and if the police didn’t avoid patrolling around here "

"Certain areas are nicer than others but the crime is everywhere. Definitely worse the closer you live to kenmore. "

"This really isn’t a good neighborhood to live in. It didn’t use to be this bad but the crime is horrible there’s no police presence so the stores and gas stations always get robbed and the city of akron does nothing to help this neighborhood. Summit county the county where the neighborhood is doesn’t do anything to help anyone. There are very little programs yet poverty everywhere. You wanna limit crime ease the poverty and add more police presence. That’s why nice neighborhoods are nice they have police and city investments "

"A decent community to start a family and stay working. A community that keeps to thy self for the most part. Slightly nosy when unusual things sound off, but glance from a distance. "

"I do not like it here. I moved here 2 years ago and had no prior knowledge of the area. I have to watch my 10 year old son walk 5 houses down to the neighbors. I do however leave my car unlocked over night frequently (shh) and no one has ever robbed me. I have a security system. "

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers are not supported by the district. Classes are at maximum 28/29 in a class. It’s more like a day care than an actual learning institution. Half the time my daughter was on a computer doing Iready math and reading or working on some work sheet her teacher handed out. No actual teaching is being done. They refuse to take action when kids are being bullied or beat up. They don’t want to lose any child in the district because that would mean less money for the schools. So they either don’t take any action or put the child in a different Akron public school. All they do is pass around problem children from one APS to another APS. Racism is very prevalent. Kids make fun of other children biased on color and disabilities here all the time. Especially on the playground where teachers just stand and talk to each other instead of watching the kids closely. They will pass your child through the grades just to show on reports kids are passing. Meanwhile kids can’t even read and write and are behind grade levels. Unfortunately your child will only be a number, a dollar sign for a failing district that is desperate for money. And will sacrifice your child’s education and safely for there greed. Do yourself a favor and look into the education choice scholarships, nearby districts for open enrollment and charter schools. Your child deserves it.Parent Review1y ago3 Reviews - Rimer Community Learning Center

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRimer is such a sweet little school. The teachers all know all of the students names and greet them with smiles and hugs. Students try and are happy when they learn. There are many family events and opportunities for the parents and teachers to meet/ talk including texting! The teachers that we have had have been very responsive and friendly. Luckily I haven't had to deal with my student being in any disciplinary situations, we try to send out child to school with manners and respect. I think that most of the families at Rimer are like us. We don't have a lot but we want the best for our kids and we're willing to pitch in to help make it happen.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews
