8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe experience my children had at this school was detrimental to their health and education. Bullying was extreme and administration did not handle the situation as it states they will in their policy. The counselor not only councils all the students, but is also the person responsible for making sure the bullying policy is upheld. The PTA is active, but they can’t keep other parent groups open- especially if it’s for special needs parents. In fact, they barely advertised what they did have for parents of special needs children and it would not surprise me if many parents who would need a group like that even know that it exists. It is difficult to get IEP’s. We were told by a state moderator that it may take up to 8 years to get an IEP, which doesn’t help anyone- that’s almost their whole school experience. One of my children had one teacher that was very negative, spoke to my child in a demeaning way every day and severely impacted my child’s mental health. Neither of my children wanted to go to school to the point of panic attacks, refusal to eat, not sleeping, and etc. to the point that we had to seek medical attention. Our experience with the principal was also very negative and non- supportive. There’s been changes in the school board and there’s now a new superintendent, but the previous superintendent was also very difficult to work with. Both of my children are in therapy and they bring up their feelings about what happened here often. It makes us so sad, because we wanted their experience at school to be a positive one. Unfortunately things got so bad that we had to make alternate plans for their educations.Parent Review1y ago1 Reviews - Winslow Township School No. 1 Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe lack of support for struggling and special needs students is below par. The only way to get your child the help or assistance they need or deserve is by bringing an attorney into the picture. The schools disregards all medical professionals notes of request. It is a shame and disgrace!Parent Review9y ago6 Reviews - Winslow Township School No. 3 Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is absolutely awful. It starts with the unprofessional leaders the principle and the assistant principle. They do not return phone calls or emails. In order to get a response from them regarding bullying, which they have a 0 tolerance for bullying, I had to call several times send several emails then go up to the school to finally get a response. When you ask them a question their response is always they do not know or they have a procedure in place but they do not know why they have not followed their own procedure. When I questioned the assistant principle about an incident she began to lie and change her story several times as I began to ask more questions. 'The assistants in the front office are extremely rude and unpleasant to speak to and their unprofessional behavior is allowed by their leaders. My child's teacher was extremely unprofessional as well. She had multiple facial piercings and was allowed to teach with these, and the school is more concerned with the children not wearing a shirt with a hood. She never sent home any classwork or test and when asked she took weeks to provide the information to me to have access. She called me at 9:30pm once I reached out to her to go over my child's progress and proceeded to discuss my child's clothing and physical appearance. The curriculum is also behind and not the proper grade level teaching. This school was great when my younger sister attended but it has truly gone downhill.Parent Review2y ago8 Reviews
