"Lots of construction/road work, sidewalks and grass areas are not maintained and are littered. Otherwise, it’s a quiet neighborhood, there’s a school close by, and there are cool buildings. "

"My neighborhood has great public transit if needed. Also close to downtown and the highways. The roads have been getting fixed"

"A beautiful historic area. The most Victorian diverse area in Kansas City growing at a rapid pace and property values as well. Close to all major highways with many neighborhood amenities. Wouldn't want to live anywhere else."

"It’s a well known historic district with plenty of beautiful old homes. Although some need to be restored."

"I've lived in Pendleton Heights for four years. I love it. If you want something close to the city, a lot of community activity, and a mortgage you can afford, then this is the place for you. Varied housing stock, varied demographics, and there's always something new going on. It's a progressive community with a lot of optimism. Throw in the new Crossroads Academy School downtown (Pendleton Heights is on the bus line), and the Scuola Vita Nuova expansion in 2014, and you see why this neighborhood is getting attention at every turn."

"This Old House Magazine recently named Pendleton Heights the best old house neighborhood in Missouri. They didn't just cite the houses as the reason but the great sense of community - and it's completely true! Ask just about any resident and they'll tell you they moved to Pendleton Heights for the houses but stayed for the cool people. Residents have created tons of things to do in the neighborhood including clubs for knitters, dog-walking, scooting, book reading and more. In addition the neighborhood is certified KC Green for programs such as curbside glass recycling and composting, a large community garden and orchard and peach trees planted throughout the neighborhood. All of this only 5 minutes from downtown Kansas City make Pendleton Heights the best neighborhood in KC!"
