Zoo

I transferred out of Burnsville High School to SES mid Junior year 2007. The environment is so welcoming and the teachers and students were approachable and kind. When I tell you this was trans-formative in the way I started building the foundation my own philosophy and feeding my curiosity, and I give all my thanks to that school, I'm not exaggerating. I was yearning for exactly what they provide to young curious minds that like to get deep and expand, while promoting physical activities (getting out of the classroom and into nature). The hands on teaching is incredibly effective. I was able to participate in a "shadowing" program at St. Jude's, which was incredible. Others back packed to Mt. Kilimanjaro. We were given open forum during the duration of the assignment (I forget, maybe a week?) to "Soap Box Speech", where you stood up and started speaking from your heart on a subject you felt passionate about. They offer AP courses, of which I partook in Geo and French, which were phenomenal and comprehensive. I follow our Alumni page and see teachers and students alike still getting together. I follow Jane Tunseth's journeys on FB. They are a small knit community positively impacting children which will continue reverberating into their adult lives.
