"That the school districts is great and honestly the neighbourhood is getting worse and I don’t like the future may hold "
  • Trulia User
"Lots of people let their dogs out without tie out measures. I see people from other neighborhoods walk their dogs through our neighborhood. Not sure why Trulia is so concerned about this neghborhood being safe for DOGS more then being safe for PEOPLE. "
  • Richa
"Many dogs in the neighborhood, there is a nearby park. Owners are friendly and pick up after the dogs. Dogs will love the abundance of squirrels. "
  • Kidapa
"We have annual garage sale, occasionally a block party dinner. In the norton dr/Homecrest ave area the neighbors are very close and are like part of a big famil%. We have seen a lot of younger families move in and are excited to see these families grow"
  • Kidapa
"Annual neighborhood garage sales, letters from the Milwood board updating us on water issues or misc issues"

"Milwood is a great place to raise a family or live as a single person! It is pet and animal friendly. There are great schools in the area! Safe and comfortable. Easy to get downtown to Kalamazoo and not far from Portage shopping either!"

"Neighbors really look out for one another !! We seem to be a family here. When one has trouble we rally together! I have lived here 22 years. It’s a great place to raise children "

"I love that everyone here is pretty dog friendly and for the most part clean up after their own pets. However there is always a few in every bunch that doesn't. "

"It's very dog friendly and its great to see all the dog owners around. If for any reason there is a lost animal milwood has a FB group you can post in to help find your fur baby"

"Milwood is a neighborhood for all! First time home buyers either with or without kids, older generations to downsize and still want to be apart of a community. My kids who are elementary age love to ride their bikes in the summer. Also, a lot of neighbors help plow in the winter. The location is perfect. Close to downtown Kalamazoo, shopping in Portage, and the I-94 for getting anywhere else you want to go fast."

"Lives here 12 years and it is a stable neighborhood with family oriented and pet oriented people. The closeness to stores allow you to walk or we are on the bus line"

"Kid and pet friendly. Milwood is a stable and well established neighborhood! Friendly people and we all help each other. Deer, turkeys and squirrels are a few of the domestic wildlife you will see. It is an older area but young, old, children, teens... all ages are in this great area."
  • Kim B.
"Just walking our dogs and meeting in the evenings. I know the neighbors on my street and greet the new neighbors"
  • Jodimwalker
"I like that our neighbors look out for one another, but are not nosey. I feel, that most have everybody's best interests in mind. "

"Good people, mostly. Every house is different. I live on Homecrest Circle and it is a great little community. I love the Mexican restaurants and how Milwood is like its own little town. "
  • Emily k. l.
"Lots of cool old houses and a diverse community. It is safe. The major draw was all the other young families coming to this particular neighborhood. "
  • saulatude53
"I live here and it is close to a small shopping center for food and essentials, close to schools, gas stations, banks, there is a linear park at the end of the block to exercise your dog, take a walk. Major highway close by if you're going East to Chicago or West to Detroit. Crime statistics low for this neighborhood."
