Promised Land

I cannot believe I found a top notch school in little old Poland, Maine!!! The teachers and students are very welcoming to new students....I know because my child started 7th grade here in February! That's a rough transition....so I thought it was going to be....it was not! Day 1 was rough because my child was petrified after her experience in another school district. She was in another district for 3 years and my child made no connections....not with teachers or students! My child lost her love for school.....then I switched her to Poland....what a turn of events! Day 1 at Bruce Whittier the school paired her up with another student to show her around....and the ins and outs. 3 months have passed and her love for school is back! The kids are FANTASTIC......KIND....CONSIDERATE....WELCOMING....If a student says something bad about another student ....they will say things like "thats not nice" and it will get shut down!!! In today's world I didn't think this existed....kindness is alive and well in Poland!The teachers are even better! They are helpful, welcoming, and go above and beyond their job! I cannot tell you how relieved I am ....I can now work and not get 20 calls a day hearing how miserable she is! I don't get anymore calls from her at school.....That's a win in my book! Thanks to all at RSU 16!!!! Keep up the good work you do with the kids!!!

Definitely some rocky times here at BMWS but it’s also not that bad
